    Good Morning all my fellow STAC'ers!

    Its 3:00 a.m. here and I can't sleep....so I thought I would start the post for today. This is probably a one time thing since I live more on the west coast and all you east coast peoples have a 2 hour head start on me.

    I've been making my way through the board, catching up on posts I have missed. This is such a great place. I just don't know what I would do without you all. I just want to thank each and every one of you for your support and kindness. I appreciate you all so very much!

    Good Morning everyone!

    Today was my weigh in, I do my weekly weigh in on Thursday because I go to Walt Disney World for my wedding 6 weeks from today, even though I just went back on the Atkins on Monday, I thought I'd keep up the weekly weigh in.
    Anyway as of Monday I am down 4 pounds I am really happy about that, as I am only 3 days in to this lifestyle, looking forward to my next weigh in now.

    I have a couple of questions tho, I wonder if someone could help out

    Is it just me or does everyone feel much hotter on the induction? This last few days, I find I am sweating much more than usual and just feeling downright hot. My fiance is doing the Atkins with me and he has said the same.

    Also, do people get more leg cramps on the Atkins? I have had 1 and my fiance has also had one, they have been extremely painful and he is still hobbling round after 2 days.

    Yesterday evening I did really well with what I ate and managed to do some exercise, so I'm happy. I really hope I can drop the excess pounds before my wedding.

    How is everyone else doing?

      I'm up early, too, for a change. I'm going to go for my bike ride as the morning is perfect here.

      Thanks, Sweet Strudel, for starting the thread! I need this place, too, and was glad to see the thread here! Ever since I started induction agaiin, I've been a BAAAAAD girl! I made up my mind right away when I got up, I'm starting induction all over... Day One. I'm going to be LEGAL in every way! Water, food, v's, and working out. OH! That's right, today is the official start of the Labor Day Challenge, too. Yep, time to just do it!

      Caitlin, the leg cramps are from a lack of potassium. You'll want to take potassium supplements (as well as a good multi-vitamin which, if you're eating a lot of meat, probably should be without iron) and eat veggies higher in potassium, like cauliflower and spaghetti squash. You might to check out the vitamin forum under "Atkins for Health."

      Shoot for a great legal day, have a wonderful summer day, and enjoy Life, folks!

        Anyone heard of smart water? It has added potassium? It is kind of a sports drink? I will have to list the ingrediants. I have been drinking gallons of the stuff and I haven't had a cramp.

          Yep, if you are very hot, you are sweating alot and in early induction you loose a lot of water weight, and you are probably in need of supplimental potassium. I use it constantly being in the south and always very hot! My daughter got the leg cramps until she started taking it at night and also a calcuim magniseum suppliment too...now no more leg crappies....

            Good morning everyone,

            I made it through my daughter's birthday yesterday with NO CAKE!!! I ended up making a minute muffin with a few walnuts and banana extract, and cinnamon. It tasted very much like banana nut bread and that was awesome. I find that I can only eat 1/2 a muffin, I'm actually full after 1/2. After being kicked out of ketosis Sunday(still don't know why), yesterday I finally got back in. Now I've dropped 1 of the 1 1/2 I gained.

            Strudel, thank you for the awesome morning message, what a way to kick off the day.

            Summer, I too felt hotter on induction. I'm usually always freezing, and I remember sitting in a 70 degree house, just dripping sweat. Must be because we are fat burners now...hee hee. I got leg cramps too, until I took potassuim supplements.

            TMN & Catrina, good luck on starting induction again, I know you can do it.

              Good Morning Everyone.. Having a holiday in the middle of the week is confusing my body..lol I thought yesterday was Saturday all day...

              Day 3 of my 6 day work week.. I don't know if my feet are going to make it 6 days.. I love the job..its just hard on me physically.. But I keep telling myself if my feet get stronger then I will be able to go to Nursing school..

              Food wasn't good yesterday...but soon I will get myself on track..I keep trying...

                Good Morning, Nursing school sounds good. You will learn a lot of discipline and stick toitness on this WOE that will help you with school. And the fact that your a great planner will pay off.
                I did not eat enough carbs yesterday*can really feel it* but not going to overdo today, just be better. Still drinking my water *YEA* I thought yesterday felt like Sunday. HAH

                    Good morning all! I actually made it here before 9pm for a change!

                    Today, I'm back at summer school which starts Monday. We've had quite a bit of trouble getting all the detail arranged this year. I'm hoping everything goes smoothly on Monday! It's going to be a challenge because we will be here from 745 - 115 with very little break to eat, so I am going to need to be ultra-prepared with very quick foods that I can just pop in my mouth. Need to make sure I don't head to the snack machine because it's more convenient than whatever I pack. We will have a mini fridge and a microwave in the room because we need to tube feed one of the students. I'm thinking HB eggs, pickles, maybe some mini meatballs? Maybe some sliced jicama? Cole or broccoli slaw may not be too hard to eat quickly, either, I guess. Any other interesting ideas? I don't want to get bored, either.

                    I'm starting to gain water weight. I haven't been getting enough water. I had been drinking Diet Rite, which has no caffeine and Splenda. It hadn't been stalling me, so I thought it was okay. Now, I'm thinking it's keeping me away from water, so, no more as of today! Just lots and lots of water!

                    Strudel - Thanks for starting the thread. Hope you got some sleep!

                    Caitlin - I have always been a hot person, so I don't know if others have gotten "hot" on Atkins or not. (Well, I guess they have, but not in the way you mean. ) However, just think of the sweating as another way for your body to get rid of all the junk stored in there! It's a good thing. But yes, make sure you take your potassium!

                    Terry - so glad you are feeling better! And you and I are on the same page. I've been a bad girl, too, and I am also starting Day 1 of induction (again) today! We can do it!!!

                    Jess - great job on the 6 miles yesterday! Awesome!

                    Michelle - great job on avoiding cake yesterday! I know how hard that is! And I know you feel so much better for it! Keep losing!

                    Sandy - just think of today as being halfway through. You're almost there! You and I have been in the same boat for a bit. Today, I'm starting all over again. I keep trying to get back on the wagon where I jumped off, but it wasn't working! So, I started on a new wagon - back on induction. Maybe if I get back to the awesome feeling of ketosis that Jess keeps talking about, I can get back to eating this WOL like it's second nature instead of obsessing about it all the time the way I've been doing. Hanf in there, girl. Just keep on keeping on!

                      Wow, I've never made it this early before-got my computer and internet hooked up at home so I can get here early.

                      Taking son to orthodontist for braces today. Going to do shopping for daughter's b'day Saturday. Need to do laundry REALLY bad. Had plumbing problems, so I'm behind. I stayed legal on the 4th and planning on staying on plan today.

                        Sounds like a few of us are doing this! LOL!! That's ok, we're gonna rock-n-roll!!

                        Hey, another idea for your quick snacks is Dom's Cheesecake in little containers. I bought some of those smaller storage containers to make individual servings of the cheesecake. Birthday celebrations are coming up so I need to be prepared! That may work out well for you, having them in the fridge and ready to go.

                              Another one I need to make for myself are cheese chips: shredded cheese nuked and broken up. They'll replace the potato chips that my family lives on. Something you could have in a baggie.
