    Good morning STACers...I was sitting her just thinking about the value of my routines....I come here every day and spend time absorbing your stories, your thoughts your lives and our journey together working out our food issues.
    I love the fact that I can really get my head around all of these things.
    Yesterday Sandy said something I've just pondered over and over.
    "When I don't plan well, I don't do well". This is me to a tee. I knew going into this way of life I would have to address and change this from the get go.
    I planned out grocheries, because that's the worst for me! Then I planned to never ever ever ever leave home without either a full stomach, or a plan of when and where I would eat again and I always took a snack in a cooler. Still do it til this day...I am not getting "caught" out there where all the drive-thrus call my name, or that food court sucks me in....
    I also plan my exercise and the time I will have to get up to get it done....I also plan when I will be here...I try very hard to stick to plan so I get it all done every day...None of this I'll be here day and night and then over-kill and burn out, no I step back and keep balance in my life.

    Making no plans is like planning to fail! What are your plans today, this weekend, with foods and exercise? What do you plan on looking like in a year, make each step today, ONE THAT TAKES YOU CLOSER NOT FURTHER AWAY from your dreams and goals....PLAN, LIVE, ENJOY!

    Good morning all. Sorry I haven't been checking in lately. I have had loads to do with the wedding so haven't been on that much. I have however stayed legal this whole time
    I am going to try and up the sit ups etc now, I am 36 days away from going to Disney and I really need to lose this stomach I have. I can notice the difference in the mirror, but I'm 15 pounds away from target and I still have a stomach Any advice? It's what's stopping me from getting into my size 12's (UK) 10's (US)
    I'm debating whether to go OWL, or stay on Induction. Also if you don't consume your 20g of carbs per day, is that okay? The last 2 nights I had cheeseburgers with onions (no buns) with no veg or side salad. I'm not normally like this, but I had no veg or salad in the house and am shopping at the weekend.

      Another wonderful and thoughtful post, Jess.

      I'm going to "camp" at my brother's on the lake, setting up the camper next to the firepit and just do the camping thing. Last night, I started thinking about what to bring for food and remembered all that's in the freezer, easy to see and find. That's because I took everything out of the freezer the other day and organized it all, throwing a few things out. SO much easier to plan on what to eat and shop for when you know what you have on hand! LOL!!

      Blood test this morning. I'm developing a sinkin' adversion to needles. They didn't bother me before but after two surgeries and low-calcium emergency in a ten-day span, I'm SO tired of getting jammed in the arm. yeech...

      Ooh! A daily walker just went by! I should get out on the bike! It's really calm out there right now!

      P.S. I have it so easy compared to my sister with her children. She managed to say no to McDonalds yesterday when she stopped for the daughter... Good girl!

        Good Morning Everyone.. I feel special that my quote is helping others... I Sandy am officially below my ticker weight Which means I lost the 5lbs I gained in my carb binge plus one more... I can feel the 250's calling me ..lol

        I was thinking last night while I sit at dance(2 LONG hours..lol).. that I might go to Florida at the end of August.. My stepmom is getting married September 1st..as I was trying to budget the trip.. I thought.. what in the world am I going to wear.. All of my clothes are hanging on me.. I have a bunch that I can get into and just not wear yet... So that is my Summer goal...To get into those clothes by the end of August..

        I went grocery shopping yesterday..spent a lot of money.. But I have some yummy food planned.. I did the same thing as you Terry..went looking through my Freezer.... So I found I had Leftover Pork Roast that I labeled for Fajita's.. Well I decided to go to Linda's site and I found a recipe that I could use them for

        We had Taco's last night for dinner..and darn it there were no leftovers So I gotta figure out what I can have for lunch.. I don't normally do Salads at home..because that is what I eat when I am out.. Unfortunately I eat out a lot..

          Good morning everyone. I'm been planning a trip to the grocery store all week, but it just hasn't happened. I've been exhausted all week, but this morning I feel pretty good.

          Yesterday I had a gyno appointment, and, as I'm sure the girls here know, I was kinda dreading it. It turned out really well. Great doc. I've always wanted to send him something, but flowers don't seem right. My bp was 124/72 which they said was good, but I've never really understood bp numbers. What do you think?

          Planning is tough. I plan to plan but then often end up at the grocery store on my lunch hour! Today I'm bringing a leftover hamburger, but I don't have any broccoli salad left. Boo hoo Maybe some green beans and a cheese stick. Hey, I have Scooter Sausage in the freezer...here comes breakfast!

            Yep Sandy that made a huge impression on me....the simplicity of the statement,
            "when I don't plan well, I don't do well"....it was just too good to let slide away....It really puts this whole thing in order....
            I plan on being successful, IT'S NO MISTAKE...You meant to loose that WEIGHT, it' NO MISTAKE!!!! Yeah for you! You are amazing, I hope that your revelations just keep clicking!

              Goood Morning! Plan to do Well! Great words for today, as it's payday, grocery day and errand day! Today is day 3 for me and after 2 days of brilliantly clean eating and making sure I kept my fat intake up, I saw a number on the scale I hadn't seen in 2 months! 176.8! *chubbyshuffle* Even if it's just water weight, it's water weight I am not totin' around on my back side! I'll take it and run!

              Hey Summer, I'm Melinda. I would go ahead and move up to OWL. Staying in induction and letting my carbs fall too low for too long brought my weightloss to a screeching halt. You may be surprised that you can still lose at 25-30-35 carbs a day. And do it while eating more veg, fresh cheeses and berries. Bump your carbs by five with extra veggies and make sure you eat them. Watch it for 2 weeks and make sure you are still losing and then maybe go up to the next rung.(Though I totally understand the whole being out of veg to eat, it's happened to me before!) There have been quite a few folks who were surprised that they still lost plenty of weight even at 50-100 carbs a day. And as far as your bit of tummy left and the 15 lbs. You may be surprised again how fast it dwindles. As we get smaller the small amounts of weightloss are more noticable. 15 lbs at 178 will be more obvious than 15 lbs at 204. Just hang in there and keep pluggin' away!
              Edited to add- The onions on burgers are an easy way to get in those veggie carbs without eating a ton. They are a pretty carby veg and one of my favorites. Onions= 8.7 carbs per 100g

              Candy, Thanks for your compliments on my glass! I have been very naughty about getting anything else done. DH has started to refer to it as my expensive hobby since I haven't made and sold anything new since Christmas. I don't know where my muse wandered to. Maybe she is chillin' with the whooshie fairy and they will both show up together LOL I girl can dream, right?

                Morning all! Great post again this morning Jess. I realize that I have been getting too relaxed lately and I need to buckle back down and PLAN! High stress times are the worst for me. But I know thats not an excuse. It seems to be the most difficult when my 18 month old stepson is here for the weekends. I spend so much time chasing him around and trying to keep him occupied that I often forget to eat and then end up starving before I sit down to feed myself. Thats something I need to work on. I have to go grocery shopping today, so I will plan out my meals for the weekend and try to remember to sit down and eat while Devon is eating. Thats my goal for the weekend. Wish me luck!

                SANDY - YAY!!!! Congrats on the loss!!! Im so happy for you. Keep up the good work!

                  The numbers look good to me. The article will make you think 124 is a tad high, but so much can increase that temporarily. Especially if you're large like me.

                  What I've done in the past and need to do again is make a list of items I'll shop for at the store. I had a file that I would update, adding or removing foods and other regular items. Then I'll do an "inventory" of what I have or don't, and check off those I need. I haven't done it in a while but with all on my mind and with the way I'm experimenting (and liking) so many new foods, not much of it is routine enough for me to remember.

                  After this weekend, or even this weekend (I'll bring the laptop), I'll start a list again. It really helped me in the past so time to do it again.

                    Planning is such a great topic. If I don't plan well, I don't do well. Not planning gives my brain an out. Then it says, "Oh, I will just go eat this, or "Oh, maybe I will do this errand instead of what really needs to get done." My self discipline goes out the window. Not that things are bad bad. I just know that my life is in order and I like that feeling. It gives me power and builds up my self esteem when I have my life in order and I have a plan and mini goals!!

                    Love the post, Jess! I'm so grateful for your input and everyone else's experience and thoughts. It really helps me. I love this board!!!

                      Good morning everyone.

                      Yesterday I got to ride my bike, I rode 5 miles, it took me an hour, but i'm taking it slow at fist. I dropped a pound, now weight 158 and i can finally get in size 12 pants comfortably.

                      Jess, you are right about planning...it's funny how you said you never leave the house hungry. I have a habit of stuffing one or 2 boiled eggs down my throat if i know i'm going to be gone a few hours.
                      My plan next year...to be in a size "6"
                      Summer, you'll make your goal by your wedding date, I know you will...hang in there.

                      Sheepie...I have made myself make my lunch the night before everyday since I started, because once I didnt' do it and suffered hard the next day, you just have to get in that routine.
                      Melinda, congrats on those pounds gone, isn't that the greatest feeling in the world.
                      Mrs. Davis, I'm there with you on buckeling down. I have to buckle down everyday, and coming here to this forum really helps.

                        Edit: Never mind! I put avocados, a sprinkle of sharp cheddar cheese, some salsa inside, and topped it with sour cream afterwards. Two sausage patties and yum!, that was a good breakfast!

                          Morning, We are going on vacation to Wyoming the end of August. I am already planning my menu because I know mom will give me grief, and the guys better catch plenty of trout because I sure don't want to be eating tuna there, but I will if I need to.
                          *Reading the posts is the first thing I do in the morning, gets my mind set
                          I am still drinking my water, just GOT to get exercising to firm up. Taking my Vits because when I don't WoW can I feel it.
                          *Sandy I need to get some clothes also, I am down to 2 pairs of work pants and 1 pair of Jeans that "fit" I wear others but they are a tad big.

                            jess, great post! sandy your comment is a FANTASTIC one, i also like scooter's simple three word philosophy he repeats often. like buffy, i feel very in order when i plan and very out of order when i don't.

                            i overate last night BAD although i stayed with legal foods. i don't know if all the running is making me more hungry than usual but i was HUNGRY all day yesterday and my usual breakfast and lunch did NOT cut it. so i ate like 2-3 servings of dinner and now feel pretty stuffed, even this morning. yuck!

                              Thanks..but I have a bunch of new looking capris in my closet.. I need to lose like 5 to 10lbs and they should fit perfect.. I might buy a few new tops to go with them..but I am aiming to get in those things
