Re: Sunday Morning Insomnia Roll Call

    Happy Sunday everyone,

TMN I will eat my veggies and protein today. I didn't eat much yesterday becasue I worked at the rescue mission passing out uniforms and school supplies to undrprivlaged kids, and there was no time to eat. time went by so fast, by the time we were done I was shaking from hunger. I did carry my water bottle with me and drank my heart out all day...It was a good day.

Off the Church, see yah later.

    Hugs, Michelle

good morning. Just came in from 14mi bike ride and then immediately into a 3mi run/wog.. They call that a brick workout, pairing up two legs of the triathalon...We would have done the swim too, but the pool was not open at 6:30...We went off on the bikes at dusk, 3 of us riding, two of us training...Just drank a protein shake, and am quite happy with myself....I am sure to be exhausted later, but thankfully my body actually might be getting use to this whole endurance thing.

Ok, Jess is making me feel lazy and it isn't even 9 am. I have managed to get up and do my treadmill for 30 minutes. I have showered and eaten a flax cookie and three slices of bacon and water.

Great Pic Blaz. Hubby is off with me today so probably will not get anything done, I could use some rest after a long week last week. Doing better with my water and going on day 2 of vegie rung.

Re: Sunday Morning Insomnia Roll Call

I woke up SOOOOOOO stiff from 2 days at the gym (my first in a year) that I half-decided that there was no way I could do my couch to 5k run today. No way. Why kill myself? Take it easy, got painting and stuff to do, no biggie.

Then I read Jess' post. NEVER MIND. I'll go, I'll go! If she can do all of that, and look that great, then that's what I wanna do, too! (only I'm just gonna walk/jog for 30 min, lol)

I'm having some surgery tomorrow and I'm a little nervous so I'll be glad to get it over with. Think of me tomorrow, please!

Today I'm going to run, paint the kitchen, and do grocery shopping.

And you know what? A month ago, before I started induction, I'd have read Jess' post and said "very nice. But not for me. I'm just too tired, and besides, she's doing some sort of major triathelon thing, and I can't even walk a block without getting short of breath. I could never............"

Prayers up fer ya. Can I ask what you're having done?

I haven't worked out per se but the legs have been moving a LOT since 4:00a. I've gotten so much done so far today and even with a nap. Thinking about taking a real break and go kayaking for a while. Simply enjoy the afternoon. I busted my butt the past week - it's time to play!

Good morning...err, afternoon everyone! I am once again at work for the next 7 hours and I have been here 3 already. I am drinking my water and not chewing the sugarfree gum I usually do because I think its slowing me down.

I am going to go for a walk when I get home this evening however I know it will still be 90 degrees and icky humid! But I gotta do it, and that I will.

Re: Sunday Morning Insomnia Roll Call

Good morning everyone! The motivation here this morning is INSANE! What ever happened to a day of rest?

I completed the first week of C25K yesterday as a practise week (it went great) and the real start date for me is tomorrow. Today I right my bike to my mom's house. The round trip in 5K....weird eh? I'm hoping to be able to run that in a few months. Strange idea for me.

Jess, you are such an inspiration. I remember last summer I was going to boxing three days a week and swimming right after (riding my bike and playing ball - every day was active and fun). It was hard and I hurt, and tried to imagine feeling like that every day for the rest of my life. Now I wish I never stopped and have to work up to it again. Over the winter I could actually feel my muscles breaking down and weakening, and that actually hurt in it's own way. Better to be sore from activity than inactivity, muscle deterioration feels horrible!

Prays and happy thoughts for you Evermind, I hope tomorrow goes well.

                    Happy Sunday everyone!

Re: Sunday Morning Insomnia Roll Call

My surgery: I've had chronic infections in some sweat glands under my left arm for about 5 years. Causes extensive scarring and also pain. Antibiotics just don't help, so they referred me for surgery to have them removed.

The surgeon is going to basically remove the sweat glands (bonus! Less antipersperant on that side!) by excising a huge section of the underarm.

Under local anaesthetic, but with copious quantities of sedatives. Should only take about 1/2 hour, and I have no idea what the rest of my day will be like. He assures me that recovery time is minimal.

I'm looking forward to the absence of the pain of the infections, even if it means some pain from the incision for awhile. What I am NOT looking forward to is the idea of someone slicing into my flesh while I'm awake, so I hope they sedate me pretty quickly when I arrive at the hospital!

Checking in just like I told myself I would.

Sending positive vibes your way for your surgery. I had to have a lypoma (big blob of fat) removed from under my left arm a few years ago. It wasn't really painful, but it was getting in the way of using my arm and was starting to press on some nerves to my fingers. But they put me completely out for that surgery. However, recovery wasn't all that bad. Thank goodness for good drugs! You'll be so glad you got it done and overwith you'll forget all about any anxiety you had. But I don't envy you the being awake part.

Jess...you simply have waaaaay too much energy for me. But I'll get there some day.

I'm off to measure my Mom's drive for a gate. Seems she's having a problem with trespassers going into her back field. Later ladies and gents....

Oh, the blahs are so ... blah. I hated that part. But you're right, it's just Atkins 'flu' and it will be over with very soon. A few days and you'll have that burst that says "yep...I'm on my way!" I finally hit "stoked" and it's great to feel so positive! Got into a size smaller jean today! How's that for encouragement? Think about those next size down pants you'll be wearing in about a month! Maybe even less? Who knows on this woe...we just know it's all in the right direction.
