Re: Friday morning roll call 8/17

Is it a High School where the Jr High is combined? It was like that where I used to live Grades 7-12 in one school. Here they actually divide into 4 schools.

    K-3 - ELementary
    3-6 - Intermediate
    7&8 - Jr High
    9-12 - High School

    I love it this way!

I bet your daughter holds that chin high and feels wonderful for her first day of school especailly once she figues out that a lot of the girls are feeling pretty much the same way! (kind of like this board does for us)

Sounds like she needed that special mommy time today! Good for you!

Byker, I can't tell you how envious I am that you have 1-2 personal trainers. The first time around I was as dedicated to Curves as I was to this WOE. The combination was wonderful. Still trying to find that rythm of making exercise a habit. I think once school starts I will develope a walking routine. I have devised a plan and am wrapping my mind around the idea. I am trying to look forward to jump starting alittle more weight loss (closet scaleaholic that isn't seeing much movement) but still lovin' this WOL. I am gratefully on the second half of this journey but I need to work this so I continue instead of feeling complacent and settling for where I am. I did this last time and in a couple years I was back in the struggle.

Have a great weekend All and a great big welcome to the newbies to STAC!
Yes, it's great having my nephew as a trainer, since he knows how to do it and all. It's a real encouragment when someone is "pushing" you. Just don't tell him "I'm a fat old woman" as an excuse for petering out...he'll make me do 'five more' as punishment. LOL Teach me to keep my mouth shut while working out.

I was at my halfway point a couple of years ago...actually made it into ONEderland. Then disaster. I'll spare the details as you can probably imagine everything that took me down, and my weight up. But I'm at it again and as long as I keep coming to this board and going to the gym and drinking my eater...

Ditto on the "closet scaleaholic". I really have to stop getting on my every day. I haven't measured for inch loss, but the clothes are telling me it's happening all the same. That is such a wonderful feeling.
      Drink more water!

Doing my best at the moment to raise the esteem of my 12yr old, who is just about to go back to High SChool, one of her so called 'friends' has told her that she is depressing ..... little vixen ... So she has had her first ever hair style done at a Hairdressers, ive plucked her eyebrows and now her chin is being held a little higher,,,
That must be an uneasy age, I have an 11 YO and she is struggling with that problem right now. they will bloom in the next 2 yrs all on their own.

High School Starts at the age of 11 in the UK, which is Y7, so my daughter is moving up into Y8. At the moment, High School and all compulsory schooling finishes when you are 16.

She is a quiet and studious girl and for various reasons, has always been 'diffferent'. She was born completely cross-eyed, which was fixed when she was very little. She has vision problems which meant her wearing glasses from the age of 4 months old. She had mobility problems which affected her until she was 4 and she will always be very clumsy and un-coordinated.

And as she is now moving into the teens phase, she is becoming more concious of her appearance, but I think a little scared of what she wants to do. Each morning since she had her haircut, she has looked at herself in the mirror. It warms my heart to see her confidence rising.
