    Re: Gain

I always make sure I weigh first thing in the morning, after I use the bathroom , before I eat or drink anything and without clothes. If I weigh at night I am always up like 4-5 lbs. Also, last week around my TOM I was up 3lbs.

    Good luck!

      Re: Gain

I weigh myself all of the time and it never seems to be the same. I wouldn't worry about the scale- maybe your just retaining water? I only keep the loss's and I toss the gains. I bet if you weighed in another day or two you will see a loss.

Isn't there a post about scale weights around here?

Absolutely the BEST way to gauge, Guek! Can't argue with the fact that your clothes are loose... well done!

            Re: Gain

I started slow with the peanut butter. Its the only new food I added this week. All the others I intro'ed one at a time and all was going well. It's 6 carbs for 2 tablespoons. I had a teaspoon of it the night before last and one again last night. This morning I woke up to +4. It's possible that it's the peanut butter even though I did well with it last time. Maybe I'm not ready for it yet?

I'll pass on it and stay away from nuts in general (even though I was looking forward to some tehini!!) and see what happens with the next few days--eating what I was eating before I added the peanut butter.

I'll also up the water. TOM is a tricky one since I'm breastfeeding and haven't gotten it since I delivered babykins.

Hey meena-beena! Sorry to hear about the gain. I remember you talking about buying a new scale...did you buy one?? If so maybe that is the problem. Just a thought. Sounds like a good plan to cut out the peanut butter & see what happens!

I agree, scales are STUPID!! lol.

Through out my entire weight loss journey I'd lose a few lbs, then stall or gain and then Poof, I'd loose all that I gained plus a few more. That happend week after week.

Everyone always told me to stay off the scale but I never could. Just hang in there and don't pay much mind to the stupid scale. It'll all come off, I promise!

                    Re: Gain

Okay- *any* change in your exercise routine - be it more exercise or different exercise can throw your weight for a temporary loop.

4lbs from a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter isn't going to happen. For it to be 4lbs of fat - and not water or lactic acid or hormones or the change in the tide - you'd have had to an extra 14,000 calories. If you didn't do that, then what you're seeing is transient. Nothing more. Nothing less.

It sucks. I know. I'm up again this week (reminds me, need to change my siggy) - and it's disheartening , but if we remember to take the emotion out of the equation and keep it logical, it's at least bearable!

Hang in there!! You've done an amazing job up to this point. Keep on keepin' on!

I LOVE YOU. lol. An extra 14,000 calories from a few bites of peanut butter never happened so I'm assuming it has to be water or the moon....

Hubby has threatened to take back any new scale I buy because he thinks I'm hooked on it............ Soooo, I may have to sneak a new one.

                        Re: Gain

Well everyone's explanations seem right on point. I was working out hard core for a year and a half with a trainer. I up'd it from 3 days to 5 days. From 1/2 hour weight training sessions to 1 hour. From 30 min cardio to 60 min cardio. AND DON'T YOU KNOW I WAS GAINING!!!! so yes, muscle gain, fluid retention, it's a part of it. But I will tell you one thing, nobody can tell I've lost 70 lbs because I'm hardly flacid...so a few lbs in exchange for the cellulite and loose skin, i'll take it!

Well, as an update I bought a scale. A jazzy one that remembers my stats, measures body fat and hydration. It says as of right now I weigh 225. I'll reweigh in the morning which is when I normally do it anyway and see what happens then. I'm completely happy with that number because I think my old scale was just weighing me wrong and my restart weight was much higher than it said (250).

I'm just happy to have a new scale finally and I got a great deal on it which'll make the hubster happy.

Hey, I got a new scale a couple of weeks ago also and it was up 5 to 10 pounds from my other scale. My old scale would drive me nuts. up and down as much as 7 pounds in a day. This one is so much better and accurate. It doesn't play head games with me like my other one did. Even though I weigh more then I thought I did I'm much happier now
