    Re: No Exercise

Now I am all about divide and conquer, using the baby step method! At least that is forward movement. I truly am excited and addicted to exercise....plus there is a whole chapter on it in the DANDR...

      Re: No Exercise

Okay guys, here is my reason for not having time. I have 7 kids. One married with 3 children of his own and living back at home with us in our 1500 sq ft home with one bathroom. Hopefully they will be leaving soon, much as I love them......Youngest is special needs, I am a dog breeder and we are very large, we have a farm, I homeschool and my husband is disabled but won't admit it. Also many drs think we should move out of our farming area to help our son, so we are trying to do work, repairs, painting. Let's throw in art classes, this class that class, drive me here mom drive me there, I need a new pair of jeans mom, grocery shopping, cooking 3 different type meals each day. My youngest is a huge amount of work and many nights I don't get much sleep. Alot of times I am simply very exhausted, I really really require at least 7 hrs of sleep. I spend hours each day on my business. And when I am selling puppies, I literally do not have a spare minute for a bite of food. One time I snuck into my kitchen for a drink of water and a few bites of cheddar, while I had customers in my living room.

But I really am going to try to fit in a 10 minute walk, I really need it. 2 years ago, my daughter and I would bike ride in my hilly dirt roaded neighborhood 7-11 miles 5-6 days a week. I LOVED IT!!

      Take care nice people!

        Re: No Exercise

Hi Maryjo! Although I am an exercise addict myself, I totally agree with Sandy--at this point in the game just get your eating under control and worry about the exercise a little further down the road. That's what I did the first time around (and actually, I lost weight faster the first time!) I think it can be overwhelming and feel like there's too much pressure if you push too hard too fast.

I have read that 70% if what you look like is from your diet. Yes, exercise is great, gives muscle definition, makes you feel great... But I also think that concentrating on learning how to eat is important and that when you lose some of the weight you may find you have more energy to do 'some' kind of exercise.

It sounds like you've got your hands full there--so don't beat yourself up over the exercise. Just concentrate on the WOE first.
        FINISH IT!

          Re: No Exercise

Sometimes during "tech weeks" of the musicals I am in, I have 45 minutes of "Down Time" during a day, but during that time, I do 20 leaning push ups against the stall every time I go to "the toidy" at work and 5 lunges on each side.

I figure, I HAVE to go alot with all the water I drink, so at least I am getting SOMETHING intentional done.

Most days it's about 100 push ups (I drink 108 ozs at work every day)
