    So this weekend turned out badly for me. Personally i had a blast i got to spend time with the man i love and adore with all my heart and i got a lot of laundry done and generally had a very good, happy weekend. But Friday night i was out very late. The had to get up very early saturday and go to a football fundraiser breakfast. All you can eat pancakes and sausage. Well i ate 4 sausages. i think they were loaded with sugar. I came home exhausted and made some scrambled eggs that turned out wonderfully but did nothing to fill me up(sure it was the damn sausages coupled wit exhaustion) Drank some water in the hope it would fill me up. Had to got to a football game and ended up forgetting to take water. Got sunburned and even more tired and came home and was starving. Craving sugar and starving and thirsty and tired and sunburned. Could find nothing fast and easy and ate a piece of cheese. Did nothing for me. Sugar cravings are going through the roof at this point so i think "ok i will make just a bit of whipped cream to satisfy" Never again I tell ya. That set off a chain reaction eating binge. i did not eat any carb laden food but i went back for seconds and thirds on the whipped cream and ended up eating a lot. Gained all the weight back that i had lost in the past week too. i am not going to weigh in officially for another couple of weeks because TOM is particularly cruel to me and i can expect to hang onto this weight for at least 2 in not 3 weeks before i will see any loss below my 188 low. Right now at least as of yesterday morning i am sitting at 190 again
    Anyway, i know that continuing to post here will help me get back on track. So that is why i did.

    I feel for you!! {{{hugs}}}

    This is a great --real life-- example of the "be prepared" motto!! We can all learn and grow from Susan. Sometimes life gets in the way and we find ourselves in sticky spots scratching our heads wondering what to do next.

    The trick is to brainstorm ideas that will help us when we get in those situations and not get stuck in self pity or embarrassment because we ALL go through these things.

    Way to be honest Susan and own your teeny slip.

      I have this problem too and the way I am trying to deal with it is making little baggies filled with ok stuff to carry with me. I have been cutting up strips of cheese and pepperoni . The pepperoni satisfies my tangy salty cravings and the cheese fills me up longer. I have also found olives satisfy my salt cravings without doing much damage. I buy the expensive olive salad from the deli but limit myself to 5 or 6 olives a day. It works for me. I no longer have to worry about TOM . If you get PMS you will want to cut back on your salt. When ever you leave the house take a snack with you. That would be the time a low carb bar and a water would be a good thing to put in your purse just in case your gone longer than you expected.

        Spirit your doing exactly what you should be ............. you came here, you posted, and your getting advice and encouragement to make you stronger and help keep you going. Thats exactly the recipie for success!!!!!! Hang tough girl ........ Next time you'll be prepared. I have what I call my success cooler, call it a survival box or a safe foods box whatever works for you but girl don't leave home with out it ........ keep good safe foods in there that you like. And lots of water on hand ........... the good news is you stayed legal and even tough you had to much it shouldn't set you back to badly ........ Chin up spirits high and keep on keeping on girlfriend!

          Thanks guys. i need to do a bit of shopping this week to get some more induction friendly foods. It's hard because BF does not follow this WOE so we have a lot of crap in the house and though i do not eat it, it feels like there is more food in the house than there really is and i end up wondering what to eat. i am thinking of making a roast this week just for me to have something prepared for me to snack on.

            You can do it! Glad you came and posted!!

            It is hard when someone you live with doesn't follow the same WOE but thats ok too. Make sure you are always prepared. Can you take 1-2 days of the week and make up items ahead of time?

            Egg, tuna or chicken salad (even those not on this WOE eat that)
            baggies of celery, green peppers, cheese blocks in 1 oz
            make ahead hamburgers, chicken breasts - I make ahead turkey burgers, don't over fry them and they heat up nicely in the microwave and are delicous with horseradish mustard! (there is no sugar in the one I buy)
            HB eggs
            baggies of lettuce and tag along a little container of dressing

            I'm sure others have some other good ideas also for preparing ahead of time. I just began back 9 days ago so I'm still lurking on all the threads for ideas! LOL

              Hey Spirit,
              No matter how much you feel like you have gone downhill, you can always dust it off and get back on it. I can say that I have fallen off so many times in the past year (former carb junkie). Once you know you are ready to commit, the journey actually gets more pleasant because those results get you so motivated. I fell off due to emotional issues, but knew that I needed to getover it and reach for the stars...just keep reaching cause honey you are going to get there...lots of lluck...We are all here..Hey I mean..look at me....back at it again...LMAO!

                Susan, Sounds like you really did get into some sugar there at the fundraiser. I am sorry for the huge mess it created in your weekend. You are smart to come here and share, because it puts the power back in your hands, instead of leaving the guilt in control of your emotions....
                Next, I would really encourage you to treat your weekend with alot of respect! They have pitfalls in them, extra fun things to do, running around later at night, being with those you love....It's all what it's about, but shop, and prepare by Thurs night, snacks and water bottles....so all you have to do is grab em. A lot of people cook up chicken breasts and cube them and put them in baggies. Pepperoni in baggies, and string cheese in baggies. I keep nuts in the car....We buy a 6-pack of 24oz water and keep refilling them....I never leave home without a small cooler in the car just in case. I also know where a Wendy's is and their burgers with cheese, lettus and tomatoe for emergency....
                This is how you protect. Drink tons of water and I am sure the sugars will work their way out in a day or two, if they are not gone yet...
                What a great opportunity to learn and equip yourself with more knowledge about how you will handlle hidden sugars that will trip you up!

                  Thanks guys. I still have not gone shopping But life has completely gotten in the way the past few days. i meant to go last night but did not have time because BF had a flat tire and i had to go help with that but we went out for hot wings for dinner so i did ok with my food. i am hoping to have a bit of spare time this evening to run to the store and perhaps precook some food for the reast of this weekes lunches. One of my biggest issues with cooking and grocery shopping period is meal planning. I rarely have a list and when i do i never buy everything i need to actually prepare all my meals so i end up at the store almost everyday for something and then i over buy and it's seriously a problem.If anyone has a surefire weekly meal plan and grocery list to go with it i will love you forever and ever

                    I'm right with you on seeming to have a ton of food in the house and none for me! I'm working on getting some "snack stuff" together that I can just grab - I love the Activia Cheese sticks - for some reason they are more filling than string cheese for me. I forgot about pepperoni (adding that to my list!)

                    Also - hard boiled eggs are great to have on hand. For a sugar fix - this might sound strange, but I have found that "FUZE" drinks really help and they are low in carbs (4 per HUGE bottle). I pick those up at Costco 15 for $13 and will allow myself 1 per day.

                    Right now I am in the middle of baking cookies for our Fall Tour this weekend! Talk about wanting sugar!!! But I am keeping cheese handy and might make up a couple of sweet emergency snacks (jello) for later.

                      You've been given the best advice. Having prepared snacks ready really is a life saver. I'm with Jess, I never leave home without a cooler filled with legal foods and water. I have baggies in the frig that I can grab when I need if I'm on the run or feeling hungry between meals.

                      If you can, when the urge hits you, do some exercise, drink water or go for a walk. Also brushing your teeth will help to ease cravings. Come here and get the mental boost that everyone offers 24/7.
