    TGIF!!!! I'm so glad that it is Friday!! I have discovered this week that there are more areas in my life that I need to take better care of myself. I need to work on my mental health. I need to work on not letting people take advantage of my...I'm just to nice! I need to work more on saying NO. I need to concentrate on what is in my best interest both physically & mentally. It is not selfish to take care of myself!!!

    So everyone have a wonderful day! Concentrate on taking care of you!!

    Happy Friday everyone! Unfortunately, I'm going to have to work tomorrow, but so it goes.

    I was down another .5 pound today...I'm absolutely thrilled. What a great way to start my day. I have been extremely diligent and it has surely paid off.

    Glenda...you're so right. You have to look out for #1. You'll find a way to still be 'nice', but not at your own expense. I wish you the best of luck.

      Good Morning.. I am down 2lbs also feels good for a Friday..and it makes me want to do whats right this weekend...

      Why do we Women have to fight so hard to take care of ourselves.. Everyone complains... But I am NOT letting them rule me anymore..

      Off to Busch Gardens this evening for lots of walking...

          Day five for me and feeling great! I have also started exercising which for me is the hardest part. I can always seem to talk myself out of exercise. But not now! I know the exercise is going to help me get to muy goal quicker and it is better for my body!

            Good Morning All!

            It just seems natural I guess to Put other's needs before our own...But ya'll are so right...Look at it this way...if we don't take care of ourselves...we won't be around long to care for others.

            I have been awake since 4:48..Already got my walk in! 30 min..and believe it or not Hubby walked with me this morning...says he needs to start back walking..although it was a little cool out...Yipee!!... my ears got cold!

            I too have to work Sat..so will make the most of this day..Hubby and I are taking our 3 yr. old Granddaughter to the "Tamale Festival" This evening...Hope it stays a little cool out.

              So much good energy and control and cheat free days happening....let's keep this going through the weekend....stay focused, and have a food plan and stick to it, and you will add to consistency and that will aid in your body burning fat. Every day your body is either burning fat or carbs, and as we've cleared away the carbs, you can now burn fat for fuel, this is a great thing!

              I would encourage you to get active, walking or trotting or jogging...maybe a bike ride today, or a trip to the gym. I just joined a gym I want to work out in...I am taking my 16 yr old every change we get, instilling the value of a good workout and the endorphines that are released....

              Keep up the cheat free days, and the healthy living, I can feel the vibe coming off the whole forum!!!

                Good morning, all! I really need to make time every morning to visit this thread. I think I need to make an extra effort to get up about 30 minutes earlier to do that!

                Today is a teacher's workday, so will have quite a bit of quiet time to get lots of work done. Very happy about that! I hate when paper work is hanging over my head!

                I agree with everyone - when I don't take care of myself mentally, I fall off the wagon. Being an emotional eater has been the bane of my existence. I need to start picking my battles, first of all. I also need to channel my stress in other ways - like exercise! Without taking care of the reasons why I eat, then I'm certainly not going to stick to a healthier WOE.

                  Good morning, all!

                  Isn't it weird how someone will start a topic every morning that hits us right on the head?

                  Last night, in my portfolio class, the teacher asked us to list our strengths and areas of need. My areas of need involve taking responsibility for others and their burdens, which, if I think about it, means I carry a heck of a lot of superfluous stuff on my shoulders.

                  Then we had to figure out which of our strengths we could use to build up that area of need...........and since I'm a major problem-solver, that seems like a given. I'm spending the weekend reflecting on it and making a PLAN.

                  It's not that taking care of others, and always saying "yes" is BAD. It's only bad if we neglect ourselves in order to do it.............and this board, and this woe, and the work we do here goes a long way toward restoring the balance.

                  Last night after class, I had about 40 min before I had to pick up dh, so I hit the gym for a 30 min. cardio workout - very good.

                  I'm down .5 today, and I MAY have an explanation for that sudden weight gain - b-l-a-d-d-e-r i-n-f-e-c-t-i-o-n. I felt it last night, too late to go to urgent care. I'll have to find time this afternoon or evening to go.

                  YAY! The weekend starts in about 9 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                    I'm awake,though I feel like going back to bed.The flu is going around out here.My youngest woke up with a 100.4 fever and the older child was sick Wednesday.I guess its my turn.The weekends normally mean a four mile walk for me but I may have to skip this time. I'm eating clean though and taking all my vitamins! Happy Friday everyone!

                      Checking in on day 12 of induction. So far I've lost 3.9 pounds and can't wait to weigh in on Monday to see the results of my two weeks of hard work. I'm heading off to Helen, GA this weekend for Oktoberfest so I'm praying I can stick to plan while I'm there.

                        yes, taking care of ourselves is the most important thing... then we have more energy and something to give instead of running on empty and trying to fill the void with food...
                        Well... for me today I'll be going to water aerobics at 9:00, doing last minute shopping, house cleaning, and then FOOTBALL!!! that means snack bar duty once again and then watching the game and praying my son doesn't get hurt. Always on the edge of my seat!
                        Have to work tomorrow too.

                          Good Morning everyone! What a great topic and reminder to care for ourselves as well as those around us ........ I have always thought about how important it is to make sure I'm ok so that I can be my best for my family. But thinking about it and actually doing it are often two very different things. I am finally at a place where I am doing it as well! Thanks for the reminder as to how important that is ........

                          Evermind Hugs on the bladder infection get to the doc girl!!!!!

                          I had my blood work done yesterday ........ cholesterol and thyroid screenings. I'm anxious for the results! Hopefully today! But most likely not till Monday!

                          Well I hope you all ahve a fantastic day and a fabulous weekend if I don't get on here before Monday. Weekends are hard for me to post on because the whole fam is around and busy!!!

                            I'm off tomorrow but have to work Sunday... tomorrow will be moving some items for my folks to my sisters house. I'm sure that will be my exercise for the day!

                            Day 12, feeling pretty good. I'm so into this now and know that I can be cheat free over the weekend! I AM going to make my own personal challenge of October 1-31 cheat free - why? Because you just reminded me that I need to take care of myself!

                            I'm unable to post on the weekends, my computer at home is down, but ladies, stay strong, think of yourselves, HUG yourself and know that you can do anything!

                              Good morning everyone! I wouldn't say that I do too much for everyone else, because my dh is great and helps with everything, but I do need to find balance. I really need to get the house cleaned up and organized, and organize my life in so many ways. I find it much harder to organize my life than stay on Atkins, but I think they're related somehow. Defininitely looking forward to the weekend and accomplishing a lot.
