Re: Newby ....... 2nd time around

Yet? Yet??? Dont give up PERIOD! Keep working through this and you will get to where you are going, quit now, and you will not end up where you are going...going back and forth leaves you right where you are....or like most maybe you will slip into a worst place....Lord knows I've been to the worst of places, and when I came back to Atkins last Aug. I craved control more than foods i loved...I needed health! I was cruising right towards big troubles......
Once you get the big control, don't throw it away, and keep working til you get it! NO QUITTING....WE LIKE YOU

OK, poor choice of words on my part. Im not quitting PERIOD. This WOE has worked for before, and its going to become a part of my life. I dont like being ruled by carbs, I hate the way they make me feel. I hate being fat. I will keep on keeping on. Thanks alot Jess for the pep talk. I needed it for sure

Re: Newby ....... 2nd time around

Well my thanksgiving turned out different than i thought this year. At the last minute I got invited by my dads family to Ryans, a lunch buffet...so my chance came back around to test me to see if i would cave in...

But i did good and did NOT cheat. I ate a salad with lettuce, cucumber and tomato, and a little bit of salad dressing. For the meal i passed up the dressing(believe it or not), and got ham, and broccoli and green beans and turkey, and i didnt stuff myself, i ate sensible. (My family was surprised that i didnt get any dressing.)

I guess im alot stronger than i thought.... Well i hope everyone has had a good thanksgiving.

Hey Todd, great job, and to think you didn't feel bad when it was over, you felt full and satisfied with yourself, I'll bet. Now, I over ate, something I do very rarely and I felt terrible...I took a long walk in the woods in the freezing cold weather, just trying to cause my body to begin to burn up the foods, and make space! But you just went on forward...I love your cheatfree buttons...I really used those to motivate myself in the beginning....
How is it going with exercise? Do you work out?

Re: Newby ....... 2nd time around

Exercise is the thing that has kept me very very together. I forced myself to ride a stationary bike before I took my first bite of food. I respond very well to the endorphines that are released when we exercise. I slowly built up and rode the bike every day getting up to 30 mins or 10miles. that became the foundation for self control and focus! Slowly I went on to jogging, and eventually swimming and triathlons. Now I am consistently building a base for endurance sport. I am presently inbetween resting from the more intense workouts and building a new base.
The benefits of those endorphines will change your life! Have you ever read up on Kent's story here...how He lost all that weight and has been training for a half marathon?

Re: Newby ....... 2nd time around

well....the first week of induction i gained 3 pounds, and today when i weighed i lost 4 pounds....Im trying to debate with myself whether to go to OWL or stay in induction...what should i do?(talking to myself). Im wondering if i need to get ketosticks to check and see if i even went into ketosis, i havent really felt the signs that i went into ketosis. I dont really understand a 3 pound weight gain the first week of induction. Maybe i should post my fitday menu, not sure about that......will see in a couple of days if im bold enough to do that. well that's my rant for today. I wish i could have lost more weight the first 2 weeks, guess im not going to make the christmas challenge of -15 pounds well thats just 11 more pounds according to my scale so its possible

Re: Newby ....... 2nd time around

Todd as you continue to get consistent, your weight will drop. Your body is trying to figure everything out. I would not get on the scales too much if they dash your hopes and mess with your expectations....
I would go to OWL if you feel the need for more food choices....the first rung is only adding 5gm of veggies...
It's gonna take time to loose the weight, and you need to find a way to just be consistent day in and day out. Getting the right foods, water and exercise into your life on a consistent basis, making that your focal point will help, and soon the weight will have changed!

                    todd.....

hey, whats going on. i see you doing a bunch of pushups....and nobody knows this but....you quietly have pushed me banging out 60 a day. you're about 218....wish i was too. i am almost 260 now, and thats after losing like 16 pounds!! i cant fully predict where my weight will be at a future point, although i hope it continues downward....but one thing i do enjoy are these challenges. next month i am gonna alternate days with the pushup challenge and a squat challenge (just standing squats, not barbell squats). which challenges will you be doing in december?
