    Well, here we all are. It seems that a lot of us are struggling right now,either to resist the temptations that inevitably come our way during this season, or, having resisted the temptations, with the fact that the weight is not really coming off as we'd anticipated.

    I'm in the latter category. Last night,for the first time, I had the thought: Well,if I'm eating right and not losing for 7 weeks, why the heck shouldn't I just eat what I want to and abandon this woe?

    It was a fleeting thought, but I know that once it starts it will return into my head fairly regularly. I'm committed -but I also know that I'm in a risky area now. The scale read 205 this morning, which is 5 lbs up from my lowest in the last 7 mo., and there's no indication that I'm retaining water, reacting to a certain food, or anything. I'm just........here.

    I'm guessing that a lot of us are having those fleeting thoughts. So here's the deal. I will say "NO" today, and ask that you guys say "NO", also. Just for today. We'll take tomorrow when it comes.

    I say, "NO-NO-NOOOOOO" too....thanks for the great post there, Evermind...It's a tough time, but we can make it!

      I'm with you Evermind!

      Saying "No" over here in Tampa.

      I wrote in my journal this morning that I've had two coworkers bring homemade goodies to me as "gifts" today. When the first one came, i thought that I'd take it home to my DH. When the second one came, the thought popped into my head that I could eat it. That's when I knew it had to go. So, I told my coworker to take it away from me. So, it's GONE. DH won't even know about it LOL He doesn't need it either, and, probably wouldn't eat it even if I did take it home.

      Evermind, have you taken a VERY close look at absolutely EVERYTHING you are eating and drinking? The reason I ask is I was in a "stall" for a loooong time last year, and even started slowly gaining...come to find out the unsweetened iced tea I was drinking had High Fructose Corn Syrup in it!!!!! As soon as I eliminated that, I lost 7 lbs right away. It's possible that something in your diet, even if it's trace amounts, could be the culprit.

        Morning STACers,

        Evermind... I'll say no with you and for you!!

        Yesterday I stayed on plan but experienced my own brain-blip when, after a totally good and on-plan lunch, I felt like a piggy. The feeling carried with me throughout the day. Then, when I was picking up some groceries after work, I grabbed a package of shortbread cookies. I told myself that they were for my hubby (who likes treats [and they don't affect him!]) but in the back of my head I imagined myself eating one. Well... good news... I didn't... but the thought crept into my head several times through the evening.... along with the piggy idea. I can't say if the piggy thoughts kept me from eating the cookie (i.e, "You don't want to be a piggy!"), or if the piggy thoughts were prompting me (i.e., "You're just a pig, eat it!").

        Anyway... by saying NO with Evermind today I'm also saying NO to piggy thoughts!

          I am with you evermind. As one who is sticking to plan, and hovering...wishing those last six lbs would just fall off this week so i can say i met my goal I have had a few thoughts of temptation, why the heck not i can get back on plan after the holidays. But i know that would just set me further back. Evermind, you may also consider changing up what you are doing. Sometimes even though we are doing everything right we are just doing the same thing over and over...Eating the same foods, doing the same exercise...our bodies get used to that and work more efficiently on what used to make us lose. Change the kinds of food you are eating, try a new form of exercise or push yourself to new limits. It may just kickstart you.

            Ever - I am so with you on that train of thought some days. I did it yesterday and I find without the scale moving like I want it to I think about it a lot. I'm with you with saying NO!

            The scale moved this morning which helped me out and I know that it's cool to be wearing a size 10 vs 16/18... I just wish the sale would move faster. I'm actually a little stunned it moved considering it's still my TOM and it hasn't been a pleasant one.

            I know it's my fault the scale isn't moving quickly. Not because of lack of eating right... but because I have not been exercising like I want to. I feel lazy - but not so at the same time. Because of what we do with farming - I feel like I am getting a workout every moment some days and then just don't feel like moving the next. Excuse? Yes - and I know it - especially when I still get letters and offers from when I was a personal trainer (another life-time ago it seems)

            So will I start moving more? I am working on it. I need to stop getting distracted by everything else that is going on around me, which is very difficult. But a strong part of me knows dang well that if I lose the weight and still have a "jelly belly" I'll be pissed So I need to get moving

              Evermind, I could have written your post, WORD FOR WORD!!! I was up 5lbs to 205 and I was down to 200lbs too! I've been thinking about cheating since this isn't working for me now. I am soooo frustrated with this woe right now. I keep doing though because it's become a habit. So I'll trudge along today and be good, but I have no expectations of seeing that glorious 199 for a long time.

                Mornin!

                NO, NO, NO... Thought i'd throw my NO in there as well

                Weighed in at 115.5 - up .5 lb - sure, no biggie, but still torked me this morning.

                Ran yesterday for 1.25 mile, did the wave machine for 4 miles and worked on upper body with weights. Feel pretty good today. I have a bunch of stuff to do today, might try and squeeze some gym time in tonight - although I seriously dislike going to the gym at night.

                Hope you all have a fab Thursday!

                  I'm with you Evermind. NO NO NO. Weight loss is an ongoing battle. I mean, even when you hit "goal" you never really finish the task. We will ALWAYS be in some sort of weight loss mode and that's just fine with me. The tricky thing is to not let where you are in your journey play with your mind and make you either too comfortable--i.e.--I can just have a bite of that cake and be fine. or too crazy about it--i.e.--I've dropped .34290348042 of a pound in the last hour!! lol.

                  You should join me and do a week in induction to rev up those engines again. Dr. Atkins says that it is perfectly acceptable to go back to induction in order to get off a plateau--and I'd say you hit one in a big way. You'll probably begin losing in no time at all!!

                            That's what I'm doing too, 5th day. I also cut out the 1.5 teaspoons of splenda I use to eat. Fat is at 71%. I also cut back on the workouts. I was on the treamill for an hour a day almost everyday. And back on the water which sounds crazy, I know, but I was drinking between 200 and 250 oz a day, so now I'm down to a more normal 125 - 175.

                            I'm happy to see everyone here everday even when we are all stuck and cheating. Maybe its the time of year? Our bodies know its winter and are storing fat to keep us safe.
