Darn...and you could have had it for me vicariously. lol.

We have jicama at our stores too....but I don't like the taste so I don't buy it.

    Hmm...we could have traded.

I just went shopping yesterday for me to restart. Veggies I bought

      celery
      cucumber
      rommaine
      mushrooms
      tomatos
      zuchinni
      cauliflower
      brocolli

And yes. so many people are misinformed. I am not even going to tell my mom just because i am sick of trying to explain it

I have 6 people in the house so the veggies go pretty quickly since it's not only me eating em. I'd probably buy much less if it were just me and the hubby or me on my own, especially during induction.

Always try to get fresh veggies & get frozen when I need to . Winter in New England =not a fantastic selection of fresh veggies.

          ~celery
          ~romaine lettuce
          ~cucumber
          ~red & yellow peppers
          ~zucchini
          ~summer squash
          ~cabbage...my favorite
          ~cauliflower
          ~broccoli
          ~spaghetti squash...my other favorite
          ~mushrooms
          ~frozen green beans...french style cut

I would love to try jicama but cannot find it any where in the state.

            Hit the grocery store yesterday.....

2 things bagged salad...the kids eat it more than me
6 cucumbers...I eat them more then anyone
            1 bunch celery
            1 pound mushrooms
            1 bell pepper
4 zucchinni....I found it for $1.27 a pound, not cheap, but I've been craving them big time!

That should last me until Friday with the frozen and canned stuff I have...I crave fresh more than I do the other.

I'll tell you what, you guys who can't buy jicama go out and buy okra for me and I'll buy jicama (lol)....

you guys, i recently tried sauerkraut for the first time in a lOOooong time, and realized i loved it in some butter with some onion powder. is sauerkraut considered cabbage, and if so how do you measure it for induction? surely 1 cup of sauerkraut is more than 1 cup of raw cabbage, but on that handy wt per cup of vegetables link on the induction page it seems like that's right...thoughts? and other ways to cook it?

also, do you weigh it with the juices or do you squeeze them out then weigh it? it made a big difference to squeeze the juice out (almost doubled the amt of sauerkraut to equal 1 cup or 142 grams. help! i don't want to go over and blow my induction!
