    Re: Roll Call 12/31 Monday

evermind, i completely had a stall around 179 that lasted MONTHS!! unlike you, however, i grew impatient and presumed the 'diet' wasnt' working for me anymore, and went off plan. when my wt went up to around 184 or so, i went back 'on' plan. i did this about 5 times, and finally decided to stick with it NO MATTER WHAT, changed up my exercise regimen, cut processed meats (hot dogs, salami, pepperoni), and went back to induction for about 8 weeks. no stalls since!!

      Re: Roll Call 12/31 Monday

Good afternoon you guys! =) Are you ready for the New Years?!? I sure am. =) I get to work for 6 hours today, so that's very nice, it gives me something to do. Then, I have about 45 minutes when I get home to pig out on atkins friendly foods before I head over to my friends house where all they are going to have are pizzas and sugary snacks...-.- I'm glad I figured out a solution to that problem because there is no way in hella I am going to cheat on my 7th day cheatfree!! And I know exactly what its going to make me feel like in the morning and I can't have that anymore.

Im sorry that I haven't posted in here in ages, but it sure feels nice to be doing it again. I fell off the wagon for 2 weeks straight and it totally sucked like no other. I was groggy and I felt very gross. So, I learned from that mistake, never again will I do that to myself. We all have bumps in the road, we just need to learn how to get over them. =)

Have a great New Year you guys!!!! =)

And Lisa, I definately know about that Hashimoto's disease!!! I hope I don't develope it because I have Hypothyroidism too. That would be very scary. THe best of luck to you. I should get my blood work done to check out my TSH levels and all that jazz. Oooh, frighteningly scary. (No, not afraid of the needle, but finding out my cholesteral levels and stuff. Augh!!)

Happy New Year everyone!!! Im sooo happy to be back to this WOL!!! My induction flu was pretty fierce this time around, I had about 4 days of it. Last night was the worst while I was at work ( i work 11p-7a ) but after a salad it got a little better, but I was totally pooped when I got home this morning. I feel quite a bit better since I woke up, so hopefully its passed. We got a heck of a snow storm last night so I really need the energy to clear some of the snow. Everyone is looking great, and you all have such good attitudes. Everyone have fun and be safe this New Year.

          Hello Everyone!

I am so happy to be here and so grateful that this board is here. I joined in on the 2008 New You Challenge today. I need the extra motivation and I am really looking forward to starting. One of the requirements was to post a recent photo before starting. Yuck. I hated doing it but here it is. I don't ever want to see this photo again after I get this weight off. Here is a reminder everyday to me of why I am doing what I am doing.

          Mitzi
I was just talking about you a day or so ago. I saw your pictures on another thread and I remember you from when I was on the STAC thread before. Wow you really look so great. You are an inspiration. You and Jess both. Seeing how far you have come. It is fantastic. Atkins really does work when you apply it. Duh! (hitting myself on the head) LOL.

I started induction today, I figured why wait? Eating a bunch of junk today and tomorrow is definately not going to help me out any and frankly I didn't want 2 or three more pounds to get rid of. So here I am Day one and it is going really good so far.

          Take care
Happy (almost) New Years to everyone

Hey there --- I'm a long-time-ago poster and have been lurking again for a while. I love this board and have enjoyed reading stuff from some new folks and some who are familiar.

Some great stuff going on here.

Have a great new year everyone!

              Hi Nancy,

Welcome back! I was a lurker too but decided that this WOE was the only thing that was really working for me. Happy New Year to you too!!!

                Re: Roll Call 12/31 Monday

                Good Evening, Everyone

Sorry that it's taken me so long to reply today - hope someone sees this, even though it is late.

Sheepie - I missed you, too! I've been trying to spend more time in Journal Chats, and I've haven't been to STAC much lately. I'm going to do better with that!

Colleen (cmbyrd50) and Deb, thank you for the compliments. Colleen, I have noticed that I have a lot more lines and creases around my eyes, especially when I smile. I was bummed when I first started noticing this happen, but I'm over it now. I'm just so happy to be rid of the weight.

Evermind - I am one of the rare few who never had a stall. I averaged a loss of between 1 and 2 pounds a week... a lot of weeks I lost 1, some I lost 2, and a few I lost none. It's kind of futile to compare rates of losses between 2 people, because we are all so different... it will drive you nuts! One thing that I can tell you, though, is that I had to drop a lot of foods that started out being fine for me. By September, I had dropped fruit, cottage cheese, and greek yogurt. They all started out fine, but ended up causing issues. So, I have basically eaten at Rung 1 (plus an ounce of raw, natural almonds), for the past 4 months. It has been my experience that the kinds of carbs I eat, makes more difference than the number of carbs I eat. Meaning, that as long as most of my net carbs are net veggie carbs, I was eating up to 45 net carbs and still losing consistently. So, I would definitely experiement with temporarily eliminating a specific food each week, rather than cut back on the number.

Having said this, I don't want to give the impression that everyone will have the same problems that I have with these particular foods. So, everyone, please don't be scared to move to OWL from Induction. I jumpstarted my losses at a point when I had gone a couple of weeks without losing, by adding more veggies. I have observed, however, that it is fairly common for a food that started out as being harmless, can turn on you, and either cause you to bloat, stall, or cause cravings, even though they didn't when you started eating them. This WOE is an ongoing process, that must be monitored constantly. Even in Maintenance, I find that I can only eat at Rung 1, with the occasional indulgence in the other rungs. I have started eating a lot more calories to stop my weight loss, rather than up my carbs too much, because the high number of carbs and the kinds of foods they are do a number on me.

OK... for those who love pics, I have a few to show you:

Well I am back after quite some time but I have been lurking around once in a while. I have put on a few extra pounds and have been diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2 with a dab of high blood pressure and a sprinkle of high cholesterol. I would have to say that this would all be self induced so I am going to turn around my life style and that of my family.

Cheers to you all on your achievements and those you will accomplish in 2008.

Those of you who posted pics of your weight loss is amazing!!!

Good for you for coming back and wanting to make a change in your life. I hope this way of eating helps with or even eliminates some of the health issues you are having. It is good to have you here.

I feel for you having food poisoning. You're right, not a great way to start out the New Year for sure. Hope you are feeling better soon.
