Re: Monday January 7th roll call
Day 9 of induction for me, planning to enjoy my very last cup of coffee today - going cold turkey tomorrow. The kids have appts so that will keep me distracted. I'm sure I'll deal with a big headache for a day or 2 but I know I'll feel good not drinking it. I gave it up completely back in May when I started and I went 3 months without it and felt great.Karen - SAHM to C&C

Good Morning STACers ~~ checking in for accountability. I'm down a full pound this morning (!?!) after eating a lot more yesterday...could be hormones, could be calories...don't know. But I'll take it. Lots of interesting posts about calories/stall issues/food intolerances this weekend.
Have a great day everyoneCatherine (jersey)

Re: Monday January 7th roll call
Good morning everyone!
Yesterday I organized some of my low carb recipes. I print them out, put them in page protectors, and put them in a 3-ring binder. I have a lot of recipes from 2003-2004 when I did this before. I used to belong to a different forum back then and when I started again last year, I couldn't find it. I looked and looked until I found ADBB. Well, yesterday I looked up some of the old recipes online and I found the forum on a new server. You know what? I have no interest in going back there. I really like you guys and I'm too happy here to go anywhere else!
Be good today!

Re: Monday January 7th roll call
Good morning everyone. Last night I had a yummy dinner of Just Like Stuffed Potatos from Linda's low carb, with some lean hamburger, and additional veggies.
Guess what's for lunch
Feeling good. I got through my first weekend on induction smoothly. My 6 week old German Shorhaired Puppy helped keep my mind off bad food!

Re: Monday January 7th roll call
I'm here
Day three into Induction once again...
But I almost caved last night at the grocery store... I swear when my body is down on it's glucose storage, my senses crank up to an UNBELIEVABLE level... I was in the aisle NEXT to the candy isle, and no joke, I could smell the different kind of candy on the other side of the wall... (now I know I can smell snickers and hershey's and hot tamales through the box/wrappers)
You would have thought someone opened all the candy and poured it on the ground... and started cooking it or somethng... that's how strong the smell was for me... so to my astonishment there was no candy laden floor... just a normal candy aisle...
but it was enough to punch a craving right into my gut... so I ate a couple peices of sugar free russel stover's... and I don't feel guilty about it.
This morning I ate zucchini drizzled in olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper (thinly sliced zchi) - something I saw on the food network... just thought I'd share cuz it was awesome!
Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone starts their week out right !!!

Re: Monday January 7th roll call
Good Morning, Everyone
Wow, what a difference a few days can make. I was just freezing my a$$ off with temperatures in the 20's, and it will be in the low 80's today... it was almost 80 yesterday. Wish it was less humid, but I'll take it.
Lisa, I thank you for starting the roll call. I think it's a great affirmation for you, that you were the one to do it, today. You are taking charge of your life, and diving into the Atkins way of life.
Luvmybabies, good luck with giving up the coffee. I know it is a difficult habit to break.
Catherine, I'm glad you saw some of the posts on calories/stall issues/food intolerances. Atkins is lifetime process, because things can change up on you. Even though I am in Maintenance, I still use Fitday and have to plan as much as I ever had to.
Bivium6, keep doing what you're doing!
Cheri, my DS doesn't go back to school until tomorrow, so this is his last day of freedom.
Good luck on the weigh in tomorrow.
Starr, try your best to get into doing some kind of exercise at least 5 days a week. That's my goal, anyway! Good luck!
Sheepie, that sounds like such a good idea! I am so dis-organized.
And, I don't enjoy cooking. One of my goals this year, is to learn how to cook a little better, and I know that doing what you are doing would help me. You've inspired me!
Joy, I have been trying to think of some new things to try, because it has become apparent that I get board with exercise very easily and need to have an arsenal of exercises to pull from, so I don't get bored doing the same thing all of the time. Can you believe that I have never done yoga? I think that I read somewhere that you prefer the classes at the gym, versus any home-videos you have done. I'm not going to be able to join a gym, so I have to rely on the home things (which I'm not crazy about
). But, I make the best of it. I found an old Rodney Yee AM Morning Yoga VHS tape that I have never opened. I still have a VCR, so I'm going to try it today.
Jess, yes! I'm looking forward to this week.
Blue, yep... I do retain water when I'm sore after a workout. Good for you for working your upper body. I need to do that, desperately.
Dew, a puppy!
They will definitely keep you occupied. My yellow lab puppy is 4 months old now, and what a handful!
Have a great day, Everyone!

Thanks for the idea.Originally posted by plsmachicThis morning I ate zucchini drizzled in olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper (thinly sliced zchi) - something I saw on the food network... just thought I'd share cuz it was awesome!
I have sliced it, dipped it in egg, then into parmesan cheese, then fried in some oil. It was really good.
Today, I have some fresh asparagus that I will drizzled in olive oil, and sautee/fry in some oil on stovetop.
Good job on not caving to the candy in the store yesterday. Why is it that our sense of smell seems to get better, when we stop eating carbage?

Re: Monday January 7th roll call
Good morning everyone !! I hope you all have a wonderful day, I plan to also !!
Day three of induction for me and I am down two pounds this morning. Most likely water, but I know I have been very bloated lately, so I am thrilled to even see water gone.
I am looking forward to a great week and more lower numbers on that scale !!!
