    Morning all! Just enough time to stop in and say congratulations on your losses and sticking to plan! I snuck a peak at the scale today and TOM seems to have come by with a wooshie, but we'll see if it sticks .

      Hi everyone! I'm on day 3 of my (75th lol ok, 5th) induction. Had my little pity party this morning because I'm tired and wanted a chocolately sugary coffee to wake up. Got my husband to remind me of why I'm doing this, and it worked. I'm recommitted and over the 'poor me, I can't binge' feeling.

      DH and I are getting up at 6 am and exercising together in our living room. Its been GREAT! My 20 minutes on the elliptical goes so much faster with him to talk to. And DH is fit enough to inspire me to reach his level of fitness. I also work at a college and signed up for a lunch time yoga class M W and that has been SO relaxing and confidence boosting!

      So, I gained 4lbs over Christmas and just took it off again. I'm determined not to yo-yo. I'm SO SO determined that this will be the time I take the weight off! I'm not losing it (I don't want it back) I'm taking it off - getting rid of it - shedding the unwanted! I was feeling a little overwhelmed by my long term goal of 100lbs. But, I'm trying very hard to just focus on today.

        Morning all!

        Woke up this morn at 4:45am to get to the gym by 5. Swam for an hour - was fantastic. I have Boot Camp class at 4:30 this afternoon - I'm excited to get my sweat on. Two-a-days... gotta love 'em
        Feel good about my weight. I have stopped adding salt to my food. It's strange to taste food now. Green beans last night were sweet -whoa!
        I haven't had my coke zero in a few days either. Although I was only having one a day (usually with dinner), i thought it would be fun to see how long I can go. So far, so good.
        Made some Oopsie rolls and they rock! They really are super good.

          Thanks Digital! Sounds like you have a great plan yourself! I keep hearing about HIIT and yet I have no idea what it is? I think I'm missing out on something.

            Hi everyone,
            plasmachic... good bargain hunting girl!!! yeah you!
            For dinner we had lamb chops last night, with artichokes and califlower bake...(rice for the fam) it was so delicious...

            I have a work meeting and then work today... need to do some exercise... something gentle... maybe a short walk. having to be so careful with my neck these days...

            I need to eat more... I keep forgetting to. I think I'll have a burger wrap for breakfast/lunch. taking chicken salad for dinner with califlower cass. and some green beans and a small green salad...

            3 weeks of no cheats down for me... definately feeling it in my clothes. they are all getting loose. yeah!

              HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training.

              A typical HIIT routine will involve some bursts of "all-out" training followed by periods of lower intensity that allow for active recovery (this means your body can recover somewhat even though you haven't completely stopped exercising).

              Interval training can be as simple as doing an all-out sprint, jogging until your heart rate reaches a certain level, and then sprinting once again.

You also receive a benefit from EPOC (exercise post oxygen consumption) with research showing that you may elevate your metabolism for up to 24 hours AFTER an HIIT workout. If you have already restricted your calories and need to lose more weight, adding more HIIT can be counterproductive if it results in muscle loss. This depends on a variety of factors. Some bodybuilders use HIIT to trim down for competitions, but others prefer LISS (low intensity steady state) cardio because while it takes longer to burn calories, it is easier to recover from.

                Digital - Ohhhh! Maybe thats what I need to try! Sounds like the perfect thing to boost my workouts a little bit and trim my waistline. I'm guessing you need a heart rate monitor for this? Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me!

                  Hello everyone!!

                  So I just got back from Testing for my new job and I rocked it! They are gonna call me on Friday to schedule a final interview - so I'm pyshed

                  I tried a new workout video this morning and it just beat me. It's a 50 min video and I could only do 20 mins. So I did that and the 10 minute cool down. Ugh so rough but at least I have something to work on.

                  Now its time to get some food in me and relax!

                    The storms some of you had sound terrible! Hope everyone is ok! Spazzyhilo, Way to go on your job testing!

                    I was sick today so I didn't move around a lot but I didn't go off plan either. I didn't really eat today but I drank as much water as I could to make sure I didn't get dehydrated. My bf thinks I need crackers to settle my stomach, I keep telling him that they would just make me feel worse! Hopefully I'll be better soon. Hope everyone is well today!

                      Good evening, everyone!

                      I think I've hit the point where the excitement is setting in. I've found myself thinking about how I'd like to get a good quality elliptical for the house, but I can't afford one right now. I want something for the home that I will actually use and I always loved the elliptical machine at my old apartment, I just hated going to use it in front of other people. I might look for a used one someplace like Craigslist, after I do some research of what models are quality and strong enough to hold me right now.

                      Carbs were kinda sorta okay today. I logged my food in my journal - it came out to 22.7g. Not too far off the mark, but not a perfect induction day, either.

                          Hi all! Had a great productive day. TOM is here, and when I weighed myself this morning, I stayed the same. Usually I'm up 3-5 lbs, the first couple of days. So I'm hoping by the weekend I will be down a few pounds. Still keeping up with the Slim in 6 program, week 3 half way done, and feel great afterwards. Off to sleep now!
