Thanks for contributing everyone. You all got me thinking about some things I didn't even appreciate about this WOE but do now.

      Karyn,
      what a great thread!

I know I've only be back for two days but I've been a part of the Atkins lifestyle since 98. For better or worse I keep coming back. Any problems that resulted in my gaining 80lbs and losing 30lb. gaining 20lbs. losing 10lb. gaining back 30...well you get the picture, all THAT is my own doing whether it's emotional, genetics, lack of physical activity or whatever, I do own that, it has nothing to do with Atkins. **** in the past 10 years certain weight gain periods could've been from the upteen million other "diets" I tried. But when I did follow a CLEAN Atkins WOE, with some exercise it was awesome and why I keep coming back is for the following reasons...

      1. Great looking skin.
      2. Great tasting food.
      3. Decreased cravings.
      4. Weight loss or even better lose of inches/sizes!
      5. Better moods and sleep habits.
      6. CHEESE!

      And a new one...ADBB!!!!

Re: What I love about low carbing-please add yours

I find that I have a general feeling of happiness when I follow this WOE. I can honestly say that this is the only weight reduction attempt that has ever worked for me. Sure, I lost a few pounds with another plan, but I was MISERABLE!! Low calorie living is torture for me, feeling hungry all the time made me want to gnaw the furniture!
Examples of happy moments on any given day:
-noticing that pants fit better as lumps start to smooth out, instead of feeling disgusted and ashamed when things don't fit properly
-being asked several times recently if I have changed my hair/make-up/glasses.....something is different, they just haven't quite figured out what!!!
-wonderful new recipes found on this board
        -rings fit better
-shirts fit better because I am standing up straight
-DH is along for the ride - he is happier because I am
        I love this WOL!

Ok - the fact that people are noticing is cool.... I'm not hungry all the time..... and that for the 1st time in 11+ years I will wear a smaller size bra!

I'm waiting on a few things - my confidence level for myself needs to increase and I need to relax some and stop thinking about stuff so much - I need to become more comfortable in my own body and that is starting to come out some but not enough yet.

I"m so glad you all liked this thread. I thought of it as I was brushing my teeth yesterday morning and noticed that white coating on my tongue was gone, again ( not my first time on Atkins!) and started wondering what other things came along with the WOE for others. BTW...
-now that I think about it my skin is much improved
                -I do think clearer
-I'm with the "I Love Cheese" crowd
                -grateful for sour cream

I'm there is more but you all have said it well.

Have a great Low Carb Day!

As an old newbie (or new oldie?) I was sent to this thread for motivation - it works! Here are a few of mine--

                          1. Not having that "afternoon slump" from blood sugar drops
                          2. I have the POWER of my own food choices, my cravings don't control me

And some of the thrills I had the first time around, and I'm looking forward to again:

                          3. Wearing my wedding band set after it was in the drawer for 11 years
                          4. Crossing my legs
                          5. Being able to breathe, not having that "suffocated by fat" feeling (am I the only one who has had that?)
                          6. Not being recognized at first by old friends (oh, that will take some time to experience that again!)
                          7. And the most important right now - Not being handicapped

What I love about low carbing:

I can eat food that I love.
                            I am never hungry.
Cravings for junk food are gone.
                            I have more energy.
I don't feel like I am on a diet, so I don't feel deprived of anything.
It is a plan I can stick with.

I am not tired!!!! I was soooo lathargic! I would just hit the couch every night and doing dishes and cooking seemed to take so much energy. Now I skip outta bed and make my lunch and breakfast!

I love when my clothes are baggy!

I love the power that comes with saying no to guilt-ridden foods.

I love knowing what I've accomplished! It's huge!
