    Re: Roll Call Tuesday 2/26

Hello everyone. I think I'm going to start with my M-F check in's just to touch base. It's encouraging to see others who can admit they cave & eat cupcakes when the scale frustrates them (which is why it's easier to see why you shouldn't weight daily when observing someone else than evaluating yourself).

So, I guess I'll just put my 2 cents in everyday, and welcome any advice you may have.

I had 3 deviled eggs for supper last night, and then a few scoops of cottage cheese w/ orange jello and cool whip. This morning, I had the left overs, but they weren't as yummy so I didn't have as much. I also had a diet mt. dew with breakfast, which really isn't necessary - so I think I'm going to give up soda at least with breakfast and supper, and limit myself to 1 a day, promising to do all of my water in order to "earn" it. I already had water with my luch, so that was a start - passing the pop machine.

I had peanuts for a snack today, but I think I need to take the initiative to bring boiled eggs to work, or something more satisfying. Maybe fresh salami - but that sometimes make me retain water if I'm not careful on my intake.

Anyway, I hope each of you have a blessed day. Remember to stay positive - and Beanpole - don't give up the rest of the day. I normally have a hard time re-starting right away, but the sooner you do, the better off you will be. Don't wait until tomorrow to re-start. Atkins is one of the few diets that you really can start this minute and see a difference sooner than later.

    Hang in there!

      Re: Roll Call Tuesday 2/26

Thanks Michigander! You're right and I'm back on track so far. Only thing left for me to do is learn from it and move on! I think I need to make an atkin's friendly cabinet and fridge shelf for myself. I'm also thinking that DBF should be the only one allowed in the junk food cabinet so that I wont be tempted. I'm going to request that he doesn't leave his sweets where I can see them and that if my mom brings sweets for the kids when she visits, she should put them away in the junk cabinet without me knowing/seeing them. Maybe that sounds extreme and too complicated. I can handle temptation most of the time. Its just better to avoid that small percentages of times when things get really tough and my will-power waivers. Planning for success, thats all I'm doing(as OutbackJess has taught us). I've come up with a new menu plan for tomorrow. Going to try breaking that stall/gain cycle! I see that you're doing a few menu modifications yourself. Hope all goes well and good luck with it!

        Good morning everyone!!

Got my welcome package today from my new job and it has just made my morning. Got in trouble at work because I accidentally did a no call no show (wasn't aware I had to work night before last) and he was about ready to fire me. Since this is my last week though he is letting me finish it out. Monday I start my new job and I couldn't be more excited

Time for sleepies now. Have a wonderful day everyone!!

          Beanpole -
Keep your chin up girl! I have been going through the same thing as you. Finally, this week, the scale is working in my favor
Drink tons of water, flush that cupcake crap outta your system. I actually started eating my coconut oil again and it seems to help with any cravings I may have and it's just flipping yummy - Have you tried it?
Be patient, keep on keeping on - you'll get a whoosh soon

Yeah, tell us about the coconut oil!!!

Oh, and hiding food - is not bad, IT IS GOOD. If you can't get it out of the house, it is certainly within reason to ask others to keep it away from you. Basically, at your core, it's learning to stick up for yourself. If you know you're weak in an area, you don't purposefully tempt yourself. That's why AA meetings aren't held at the local pub.

You can find coconut oil at any health food store. The jar I just bought was from Wild Oats and was $7.99 for 16oz.
I buy the extra virgin coconut oil. It has the smell of coconuts - devine!!!! Really has no taste but is creamy and yummy. There is also a refined version that has been deodorized and bleached (not yummy)- you can use this one for cooking and/or body cream. Wallyworld carries this kind in their baking supplies aisle - I think it's called Lou Anna.
It's solidified, so you can grab it by the spoonful. I add a teaspoon of it to my coffee in the morning, it creates an oil slick onj the top, but makes your lips so soft I will also grab a spoonful as a snack - helps with cravings, I think. I usually have 2-3 teaspoons a day. I think most have 2-4 tablespoons a day. Start out small, see how your tummy reacts to it, then add more.
