Re: ROLL CALL - Wed 5 March

        Hi All!!

I am going to write a variation of a new thread I just posted in the STACer's site! I just need a little help in terms of breaking a stall and I am hoping to gain as much response as possible! Does anyone know what might be happening?

Can anyone help me??? I'm stalling in my second week of induction! During my first 9 days on Induction I lost 10 pounds and now I've lost nothing in the second week. I have NO idea why I"m stalling!!!! I know I have to kick up the exercise.

I might have had too much pumpkin. Is that possible???

For breakfast I usually have 2 eggs with cheese and bacon.

Lunch I often have chicken or a meat with veggies

Dinner I usually have the same. Meat with veggies but I have made the pumpking pudding and Scooter's pumpkin cheesecake!

I do have lattes which aren't allowed but they sure did not stall me my first week and didn't stall me my first time around with Atkins.

I am also, as I mentioned in my journal, really struggling with choking. I have anxiety about eating right now because I fear that I am going to choke. I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow and I am hoping he can refer me to someone who can help me with anxiety.

I am going tonight to buy some running shoes so I can do more cardio. That's the big difference between my weight loss the first time and this time. I worked out a lot more so I am hoping to get back on that band wagon!

If anyone can help...I would so appreciate it!

        Thanks!
        Katie

Re: ROLL CALL - Wed 5 March

Katie - Losing 10lbs in a week on induction is great! What would be the difference if you lost 5lbs the first week and 5 the 2nd? You're doing great - I do have some suggestions though...

-Pumpkin could be a staller - It was with me and I had to give it up, which killed me cause it was that good

-Lattes are a no-no. If you NEED a coffee, I would suggest getting a tall americano and have them throw in a tiny bit of heavy cream.

-Cheesecake - Stop eating it for a week and I bet you'll see things move. Cream cheese can also be a staller, as well as the artificial sweetner.

-Where are your salads? Leafy greens are a nice filler - scarf 'em up (but stay within legal limits of course! )

The 1st time around on Atkins, I did so many naughty things and still lost weight. This time around - I can't fool my body for anything! What you could do before, you might not be able to do now - don't go by what you used to do. Listen to your body. try cutting things out and see if the scale moves - although, I think you've done great! 10lbs is awesome - really!

There is a thing called PISS - Post Induction Stall Syndrome. There is a bunch of info on these boards regarding it.

As far as choking - somedays I have a hard time eating. I would really have to gag down my eggs or even salad to get food in my body. If you're in ketosis and not feeling like eating, maybe that's contributing to the prob?

Get your cardo & weight training on! It's amazing to watch your body transform and become leaner and with actual muscle definition - go for it!

You're doing great - keep it up!

Re: ROLL CALL - Wed 5 March

Good Afternoon I made it. We were so busy with school this morning and time got away from me. This is my second day on reinduction and I am doing good. We even squeezed in a 45 minute walk this morning.

Have a great rest of the day everyone.

Re: ROLL CALL - Wed 5 March

              Colleenie! What a help!!!!

I haven't been eating as much salads as I should because I am so afraid of choking on the veggies. I knwo how bizarre that sounds! Cesar salads are my favourite though. I just cannot find a dressing that's okay with induction. I used to have a cesar every day for lunch my first time around, I am just afraid to go back to it...in fear of the sugar!

Good to know that you also had problems with pumpkin! I will have to cut that out and I will also have to get the Americano as you suggested. I just find it a little strong but that's such a great suggestion!

I am sure if I cut that cheesecake out...I'll see the pounds drop!!

I will have to look up stuff on PISS. i think that the thing that's discouraging is that I never stalled before and I didn't think that three years would make a big difference as to how my body responds to it!

I am going to hit the gym, that's for sure just to help accelerate it! Great idea!!

You were such a great help. Colleenie...are there any foods you find that accelerated weight loss?

                KAtie!

If there were any foods that accelerated weight loss, I wouldn't be stalled now - HA! I am at a major stall. I can't seem to figure out what my deal is. I am going to stop eating avacados and see if that makes a difference. I am not too far from goal (5lbs), so maybe my loss is slowing down significantly because of that??

I think the more veggies I eat the better my cravings seem to be. I know there are a lot of people who have watched the scale move when they move onto rung 1 of OWL. Maybe try adding another 5grams of veggies to your menu? Are you on extended induction? Or have you already moved to OWL?

I think you rock - you've done awesome so far

                    Colleenie...damn girl...you're awesome!!!!

Thank you so much for your advice!!! HA ha ha!!! I guess you're right! If there was a food that accelerated weight loss none of us would be overweight! LOL! You cut out your avacados and I'll cut out my pumpkin and lattes and we're bound to lose together!

I am a little worried to move onto OWL in fear that I'll gain weight. I am definitely goign to do another week of induction and see how I feel!! I do in the past remember eating a lot of nuts and spinach when I was on induction. That's when I was doing the DANDR. So I just feel like this weight loss is definitely going differently!!!

You're the best!!! 18 pounds down!? Look at you go!!
