    Hello All - Happy St. Pats! I am staying in tonight and booking off the gym!! That's how I am going to celebrate today and, honestly, couldn't feel more proud of myself for it! They say that it takes 21 days to make a habit! Atkins is now a WOL for me! Just phenomenal!

    I have a question! I am posting it here so maybe someone can help! I'll post it in the recipe post too but can anyone recommend a great ribs sauce? Like a vinegary or bbq sauce? I am on extended induction and was wondering if anyone could help!

      Morning all!

      Still holding at 115 - I'm OK with that (for now )

      Going to the gym today to run, rollerblade and do some lower body resistance training.

        Morning all. I am on plan though i may be overdoing it on legal foods. I inexplicably gained weight all week last week. Over a pound a day Fortunately the preceding week was losses. Needless to say I am right back at about 165 after being down to 161.4. I was trying to kill off a yeast overgrowth and i think i did not stick to my plan long enough. So working my way back to killing off the yeasty beasty. Oh and we are starting the new picture challenge Thursday so come over to the challenge forum and sign up

          Good Morning everyone. Just wanted to wish all of you a wonderful day. Hubby and I jumped on the scale last night to make it official. I was shocked hubby is up to 250 - ouch. We want to parachute this summer and the goal is to be at 200 or less. (Less in my case) So, in all reality we both have 50 lbs. to loose.
          I went shopping last night and bought all of our supplies - hopfully when he packed a lunch today he did it right. Guess I could have gotten up at 4 AM with him, but I was just to lazy.
          I had a onion, red pepper egg mix this morning - salad for lunch. I am hungry already so I am going to go and grab a snack. Good luck to you all today.

            Hey all! Cead Mille Failte. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

            I'm wearing green of course, so much that my boss teased me, "Well, *SOMEONE* is chasing the snakes out of Ireland today!"

            Yesterday was not a good day. The scale was up 5 pounds since last week (I think some of that has to do with TOM which is STILL NOT HERE!) and I let it affect me. Spirit, I feel your pain--I ate legal stuff but too much. After my run yesterday, I just ate and ate, and in incorrect proportions--way too many carbs, and not veggie carbs either. Consequently I am bloated and feeling grumpy and just annoyed with everything right now. I do feel like I got some of that frustration/restricted feeling out of my system, but a binge is not a healthy solution to a longterm problem.

            So I'm back to the drawing board, trying to figure out what happened and why it happened.

                I'm back on the wagon today, too. I dropped about 160 pounds between May and December of last year, thanks to walking every day and Atkins, but my progress on Atkins slowed, so I left the program and tried to eat sensibly while killing myself at the gym. I haven't lost any weight since then, and I'm sure I've gained back about twelve or fifteen pounds.

                I tried to get back on induction last week, and got through three days, but some friends asked me out to dinner, and before I knew it, I splurged through the weekend with pizza, nachos and cookies.

                Ah, well. Back on the golden path today. The sun is shining a bit, it's slowly getting warmer, and it's time to start losing the last forty pounds of this weight.

                While I feel badly for folks who are struggling - like me - it's nice to know that I'm not alone. I've been beating myself up pretty badly for having the willpower to lose 40% of myself, only to stall out before dropping the last forty pounds. Reading about others' struggles reminds me that we're all human, we all have to fight through our weight issues, and we can all get recommitted to winning this battle.

                  Welcome Joe! Slowing down is very normal and we have to simply accept that the weight will not come off as quickly once we get to lower weights. My weight loss has slowed to a painful 2 pounds or so a month. But i am still losing. Also changing shape as pants i could not wear a month ago fit me well and in another month i know thewy will be loose. Have some patience.

                    My progress had slowed so much that I was actually putting on some weight, and after walking 4.5 miles a day, that was annoying. As you pointed out, what I had failed to do was adjust my caloric intake to account for my lower bodyweight. I won't make that mistake again, but I'm sorry it's taken me three months without progress (off the Atkins program) to realize my error. It just didn't occur to me that I needed to recalibrate my intake based on my new size.

                    It'll come off. I just need to crack down and get busy. Thanks for the encouragement.

                      <yawn> Morning! We slept in (until the crack of 7:50 a.m.!!!!!! lol) and now we're up and starting to do some chores. Dh and I are both on vacation this week, and so is dd, but she's leaving this morning for a cruise with a couple of friends and chaperone. Wa HOO!!!!!!!!!! We'll be ALONE!

                      We have to do household stuff today but after that, we're just going to hang out together. Maybe take a day trip somewhere, but probably just relax at home, which is what we love to do. I'm off until April 10, so I am looking at getting back into more rigorous exercise (see my trainer tonight at 5:30) and finishing my thesis one of these days.

                      Zara, that fitday is an absolute must for me. I never go more than a day without entering my foods, because it's soooo easy to under or overestimate stuff! This is how, even when the scale doesn't change and/or it goes up, I can stay confident that I'm on track.

                      Misplaced - we should meet up sometime. I think we have a lot in common, and we're not so far away from each other, I don't think.

                      Sandy - vertigo SUCKS. Might be an inner ear infection?

                      Mrs.S - Good attitude. Sometimes our body just hangs on to water for awhile.........it'll whoosh out.

                          Ok.. I am getting a little paranoid here. I weighed myself and I am up 4 pounds.. It can't be right. I weighed myself yesterday morning.. Even though I am not done with the 2 week induction. I couldn't resist and then this afternoon just to see. Should I stick to weighing myself at the same time everyday? What is the best time for your real weight?

                            always weigh yourself at the same time. Preferrably only once a month at the same time. I weigh in the mornings. But the important thing is to weigh in at the same time, same place , wearing the same thing. Otherwise you will freak yourself out as weight can fluctuate several pounds throughout the day and all scales are going to tell you something slightly different.

                              That is usually what it is with me when I get it..so I take Allergy medicine.. Well I have been taking Sudafed..the kind you get over the counter.. Today I am going to pick up the Stronger Sudafed that usually works better for me.. The one you have to get from the Pharmicist and sign your life away..lol

                                Weird that so many of us are stalled or have gone up a little in the last week.

                                I too now live in Stallsville! but I'm ok with it. I joined a couple of exercise challenges recently and I have the reality of muscle memory working against me. I've been hugely muscular at times in my life via powerlifting and it seems like it wants to come back quickly! I've got no complaints, I know it's biologically a lot more active for my metabolism than fat is.

                                I feel thinner, even though I'm at the same weight for 10 days or so. I can't WAIT to take my progress pictures on the 19th, really looking forward to seeing what the last 3 weeks has wrought on my body.

                                I hope everyone is having a wonderful monday, lets get past these stalls/gains/blocks together!
