Good Morning.... Snow? My! Is that even possible? I'll not complain about anything...
My daffodills are coming up btw but they're kindof small this year... need some fertilizer or something.

I'm awake... dd just left for the airport to go pick up dbf then they're going to class. I heard her father giving her a little talk about 'the house rules' and had to hear what he was going to say so forced myself out of bed to listen... Anyways, I've got shopping to do this morning... my ds needs some shirts... appartly the security guards been giving him detentions over his favorite because it has the Cowboys logo on it.... but it's okay to wear college football shirts but not professional... but noone at the school could pick up the phone to tell me this????? and ds keeps wearing the shirt?!!!! They say it's a distraction from school, but then kept him from taking a spanish quiz because of his shirt...that seems like a much bigger distraction. and the shirt was perfectly fine imo It's a retro shirt with a small logo of the cowbows very subtle ... but, if it was so wrong, why not call MOM and fill MOM in on the big problem. I'd make sure he never wore the darn thing again... but no, honestly! That school is getting a big piece of my mind on Monday.... and my son already got a piece of it! (Why do you keep wearing the shirt?!)
but most of my shopping today revolves around food... Carne Asada's tonight on the menu... yum! and all the trimmings... I'll have a salad with mine, but everyone else will be 'make your own burritos' I'm planning on making a big pile of meat for leftovers... both beef and chicken... bbq'd.. Grandparents are also coming over for dinner to me...'The Boyfriend'....

Okay I am with your son on this one Liz.. I canNOT believe a school isn't allowing him to wear a football shirt.. I would be throwing a fit!

I know it's really really stupid! and the shirt is the most conservative football shirt ever. Blue with a retro picture of the helmet with a star in it... you wouldn't even know what it is if you didn't follow the game. This one security guard kind of has it in for him. It pisses me off because he was on his way to make up a quiz during lunch on Tuesday which is the ONLY time that teacher allows makeups and now he can't make it up... I hate that security guard. Believe me. I'm so there on Monday.

ooohh liz.....GGGRR! what is UP with teachers and schools these days? and i AM a teacher!!!

i did battle with mini me's school last week and came out on top. of course, he sounds like my kid..wearing the shirt he should NoT be wearing...but come on, a FOOTBALL shirt....you should see what some of the kids get away wearing HERE. it is disgraceful (not to mention their PARENTS!)

Thanks Sandy and Betsy, I agree... and you make me feel less crazy about it. Clothes shopping is hard enough... I honestly had no idea it would be against any rules when I bought it for him. It was from Nordstoms and was kind of expensive too! I got it for him for Christmas, the Cowboys being his favorite team... geez! Louise!

Morning, all!

Hopejoy,. good to see you! How are ya? Give that school h-e-c-k. How stupid!

We need to get together. I'm leaving on Monday for NY, though, and won't be back until the first. But then I'll be on vacation for another week and a half.....so I could do days.

I slept really late this morning, don't know why, but I guess I needed it. I'm really relaxing this week and it's good for me, body and soul.

I realized last night, when NOTHING sounded good for dinner, that my appetite is low and I'm sick of the foods I've been eating for the last several months (I do that, eat the same things every day for 3-4 months, then change up). It's time to break out the recipe file and try some new stuff. Good timing, since I can play around in the kitchen!!

Hey guys! Well I just got back from shopping with my husband at Costco. My mom had the kids overnight and so we went out to lunch yesterday and ate hot wings late last night.

My big news though - Costco had Levi's 515 jeans for $18. I like them, they are stretchy jeans so I figured an 8 would be good (most other jeans are a 10 right now and a little loose). THEY ARE HUGE!! Joe kept saying "but they are stretch" - and then I showed him the HUGE pooch of extra jean material in the front. So I get to go and get a size 6 to try out!! They might run a little big - but I don't give a dang about that - LOL.

I also noticed this morning - "hey my butts not looking so cottage cheesy anymore" so it looks like I'm starting to finally lose some of the extra fat from my butt! Yep - not a bad day at all

I'm with you Ever on the food change up. I just haven't been feeling like cooking much and everything seems the same right now. Because of it, I'm just not hungry.

Well talk to you all later! I have to go and do some farm stuff and finish washing my sheets (we ate hot wings in bed and dh made a mess)

hopejoy----ugh....communication with parents would be so nice, wouldn't it?? My kids will get warned by their teachers and then they are supposed relay the message to me. Yeah, that doesn't happen all the time.

Aloha all,
It's fun to read about the weather in your homes. Honolulu is as sunny and pleasant as ever. I grew up on the east coast and I miss the changing of the seasons. But I do love Hawaii's beauty.
I achieved week one of induction and am getting the resolve to keep going. The results will come soon enough. You have all helped me through times of doubt.

Hello All,

I am still here lurking around and yet again started my re-start of the re-start of my last re-start of induction. Ok, you get the idea right? I am going to have to fix my ticker I guess so I can be legal about it. I am back up to 149 again...blah. What is it that makes us fall off the wagon? For me, I have discovered that I get bored and am eating the same things everyday. My biggest challenge is going to be making this WOL interesting and not get stuck in a rut. I am dragging out my Atkins cookbook tonight and making my grocery list. Preparation is key isn't it? Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
Yes, the school has a dress code and doesn't allow shirts with professional logos... so he broke the rules. After talking to my son more about it, I'm not calling the school because clearly he was in the wrong... and he expressed that he would be mortified if I did.

The shirt will be quietly removed from his room tomorrow, never to be seen again.... mystery shirt.

At some time somewhere professional sports caused some problem for a teacher so they had to remove them from the school but they continue to allow football logos from colleges... seems weird/odd/completely stupid to me... but hey... rules are rules and stupid is stupid and high school is high school and can't wait to graduate is can't wait to graduate... and not much changes from one generation to the next, it's always something and it's always going to be something. You just have to learn to deal with it. End of story. Hey you're a football player, you're supposed to be tough right? Anyways, I'll give it back to him when he graduates from high school I guess. He should never have worn the shirt the second time anyways... Basicially they made him wear his shirt inside out... I bet he thought he was some kind of tough guy all big and bad... about as big and bad as he gets... ha! But I'm kind of mad at him because if I don't steal the shirt away from him he will continue to wear it... he's in that kind of mind set about it and I really don't want him getting into any more trouble.
