Re: i want to cry
Some things on Atkins work for me, and some don't. I can't have too much cheese. I can't use any kind of artificial sweeteners. I have to carefully measure my foods. There are a lot of pitfalls on Atkins, and many of them are individual to each person. Yours may be different from mine.
The primary pitfall for me is caloric intake. I find that my idea of two tablespoons is vastly different from what two tablespoons really looks like. I also find that I generally take in too many calories eating meat, and not enough eating fat. I also fudge a bit on vegetables, and end up taking in a little too many carbs (see my induction menu review for a full discussion of that little mistake).
Hang in there. Keep up your water intake - that's very good. Make sure you get three cups of legal veggies, or two cups of legal veggies and one cup of optional veggies. Make sure you know what a cup is. Cut out the sweetener, cut down on the cheese, and see if you don't tell a difference. Check your BMR, then measure out your food using FitDay, and make sure you're burning 400-500 calories more per day than you're taking in.
It's difficult at first, but if you make these changes, you'll be amazed at how little the cravings for artificial sweeteners or cheese will affect you. As you drop weight, you'll want to reevaluate your BMR, and see what your new caloric needs are.
Hang in there! I've been where you are, and it's tough, but you can get through it. Everyone's here to help and support you.
