    Better late than never I hope! Day two of induction and check it out - they took us out (other girls at work) for our birthdays and were 'nice' enough to get us free desert! UGH! I didn't say a word, I just asked them to box it and brought it home for the kids to share. Not even a 'sniff' of it. LOL! I just about did what I always do - tell myself to go ahead and eat it 'then I'll start over tomorrow'. Um, I'm always 'starting tomorrow'...'cept tomorrow never comes!

    Speaking of I could really use some advice. I wasn't thinking about timing when I was staring back and my MIL is coming to down for 5 days next week to stay with us (and 15 year old nephew too!) How in the world are DH and I going to stay on track and feed them? With our kids, they are pretty self-sufficient and will just get something else if they don't like what we're having (our oldest are 16 and 12), but I will need to feed our guests. I just about did the same thing - said I would just forget it and start after they leave but I don't want to keep doing that!

      Welcome to the boards. I would say in regards to guests just serve them with whatever you feed yourself. For example, for Dinner serve homemade meatballs and Faux "Mashed Potatoes" (mashed cauliflower, it's surprisingly good). I wouldn't bother making any special arrangements for them. You could always tell them that your doctore doesn't want you guys eating any sugar or complex carbs, etc. They should understand. If it was me I wouldn't go off plan, I would just make them eat what I cook. Hope that helps!

        Well I feed my family every night. I make all the same foods plus bread. Keep it simple, it's BBQ season. A simple salad and grilled chicken. Steak is always a hit and low carb to boot. It's actually really easy to entertain on a low carb plan because YOU have control over what is served. It's much harder visiting other IMO
