    Re: June 1, 2008 Starters

    **Hi LuluBell**(Rene)
I am doing very well with my weight loss, but not so well with feeling sick to my stomach issues. This is my 6th day on Induction, and already a 12 pound loss. The problem is, I am always sick to my stomach. One minute, I am fine, the next sick. It's really weird because I can feel and hear my stomach/intestines "settling". It's not hunger pains. It's weird. I now have to force myself to eat. Any suggestions?

Hi rosevere! Don't forget that with your salad that does not mean just lettuce. Dr Atkins never said NO carbs. There is a whole list of what is considered 'salad' vegies. Also going to mention this just because I am a fan of doing the rungs to have success. The first one is only to add 5 more grams of veggie carbs. You are doing great keep up the great work and keep posting.

Misty!! You were missed girl!! Sounds like you got a bad case of induction flu still. OR Are you getting your 2 cups salad, 1 cup other veggie in? Are you eating enough? If you aren't using fitday already why don't you go and plug in your food and make sure you are getting enough. Every body is different and you may have to watch that more than the next person. You should be eating at or near your BMR I believe. To give you an example...I am 5', 241 lbs and 44 yo and I need to be eating just under 1800 calories...minimum. And it is true..last time I did between 1600-2100 a day and lost. So that could be it. Let us know how it goes.

        Re: June 1, 2008 Starters

        Thanks Elsie.
I am trying to eat, but when I do, I just feel sick. So, I eat on a few radishes and drink water. Can only eat about two bites of a salad, I drink water, and that's about it. My husband told me to try some chicken or beef broth. It says it has <0 carbs, so I don't know if it's allowed on Induction, but right now, I'm just wanting my stomach to settle down, which it has with a few spoonfuls of broth.
I'm still in high levels of ketosis. It almost turns black ( darkest purple ) instantly. I am also losing 2 pounds a day. Don't know what to think. I'm not giving up. I am continuing with Atkins, for now, I don't have to worry about craving this or that!...lol....the problem is getting me to eat.

Yes you can have clear broth if there is no carbs in it. Later you could add a whipped egg to it slowly and it becomes egg drop soup and will give you some protein. Maybe try some cheese?? Hopefully it is only induction flu and will pass soon. But do keep an eye on it just in case. Wouldn't want you to think it is induction flu if it is something else. I am only saying because I think you are on day 6 or 7 already so the flu symptoms should be abating or gone by now. Hang in there.

misty, so sorry to hear about your tummy! do you think this is what they call the atkins flu or something else? but your weight and inches loss is incredible, really!

today was my day 7, too. still doing great. i keep forgetting to take my measurements! darn, i really should do that.

i was outside for most of the day doing more yardwork, and i have to tell you, it was hot. it reached about 95 here today and the humidity was like 90%, so it was stifling. but the flower beds are looking really good. i'm going to post pics in my journal when i complete the work.

anyhoo, tomorrow i officially enter week 2 of induction. i'm feeling great, in any case. hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend!

                    Hi Ivette,

This forum is so great for me also. It makes me feel very cozy and makes me keep going with the diet

                    Started 6/02-202 pounds
                    6/07-193 pounds

I have made a promise not to weight myself until 6/16. I have not cheated in the diet and my husband says my face s shrinking.

Ivette, could you post a typical menu?

                    Thanks and best of luck

                    Rose

Yes this board helps to keep me focused. Congrats on making it to day 5 Yvette! Rose, I am sure you are in for a wonderful surprise on your weigh day since you are doing so well with the no cheats. I weighed in for my first week yesterday at 10 pounds down.

                      Be a good day everyone.

                              Hi there,

                              Day 25 for me

                              SW 202
                              CW 187

I have lost 15 pounds. I do not cheating at all. I am going to the gym 3-45 times a week 30 or 50 minutes cardio. But I am not going to give up. I am still in induction.

I will post a msg next week hopefully I have lost more.

                              Take care
