    Re: Blown Away!

i have to remind myself all the time, not to beat myself up.
Yes I am on aktins, but trust me I am drinking way too much.
I have a lot of friends who like to drink and let me be honest. I like drinking lite beer.
So all the time, I am not getting the results I want.
And yes I completely understand burn out , it happens.
Just cause the weight comes off me does not mean the original problem is not still in my heat.
Me being fat is just a symptom of my mind, just cause I lose all the weight does not make me healthy. Its a daily fight.
I wish everyone especially Jess a great day. I know very well what it is like to fall down.
But like the commercial says, fall down 10,000 times get up 10,001.
No one is perfect. We are all made of flesh and bone. Superman is a great story but he ain't addicted to carbs. I wish kids had one fat superhero , you know what I mean.

    All the best.

      Re: Blown Away!

I love lite beer too Jimmy, but I find that it totally defeats me! I find a cold beer after mowing grass the BEST, but am I am learning it really defeats me! So, I am working soooo hard on this one thing.....I have to stay away from people and locations that really trigger the beer thing....and I drink a beer that only has 2.4 carbs, but somehow it causes me to bloat and feel defeated.....Working hard on this ticket item!

Great job Jess! You're doing awesome!
Where I'm at right now, I'm 'choosing life' out the the joy of living instead of fear of death.. so I really liked that you got out there for a 'joy ride' that's so awesome! I feel like that walking up and down my driveway... it's a joy to be able to do that, and a choice we make to do what we can each day!

        I miss beer too... ha!

          Re: Blown Away!

I know what you mean about 'what works for me' because I've tried all the diets and Atkins is the only one that works. I tried WW last summer and lost 10 lbs the first month but I was starving! Just a few months ago I was eating so much without being able to stop that it was actually scaring me. I knew then that I had to get back on Atkins because it's the only thing that really works. Like you, I keep repeating that to myself and it works.
Thanks for the inspiration and all the help you give to us.

            Re: Blown Away!

Well, yesterday I rode my bike 25 miles, when it was all said and done. I think my daughter might be catching the "riding bug" and if so, I will be doing alot more riding. After such incredible success, I mellowed out with a few ultra beers. Today I wake feeling defeated again. I ate low carb, I drank low carb and I have a huge training day, but the little party at the end took the zip out of me, emotionally. I find this a key point to be dealt with. I calculated this little treat, I made sure I had structure in place, and that I had done alot of exercise to off set the calories....even tho we don't count calories they do impact things.

I am always working it....getting new understanding to continue to modify my own behavior. I mean, SOMEONE HAS THE POWER, either me or the food, and I would RATHER IT BE ME!!!
