    Re: Coffee effects

Hey, we all have to have a vice of some kind. Having given up chewing my nails and eating carbs, I am down to coffee and red wine. Don't really want to get rid of either of them. Did do half coffee and half decaf today. It tasted fine (a little less fortifying than usual) but no headache. So I will try it again tomorrow. If the pounds start flying off, I may be motivated to really ditch it. LOL

      Re: Coffee effects

Coffee.......I love coffee. I know some people can drink it and it doesn't effect them. It effects me so I am going to have to go on decafe starting tomorrow when I begin induction. You will just have to experiment and see if it hinders your weight loss.

Congrads on starting Induction WestcoastDeb and all the best! I really hope you have better results than I did because I said the same thing..but I don't know if it's mental or what but I can taste the difference and I really hate it..
Today I brought home something called Sanka...label sounded good being natural decaf..but after I tried it...
well let's say it's out back in the yard, buried so deep it might turn up in someone's yard in china

            Re: Coffee effects

I stopped drinking coffee last time around and it was fine, but I couldn't tell that it did anything one way or the other with cravings or weight loss. This time, I cut back to 1 cup of regular in the morning and another cup of decaf in the afternoon. At my office, we always have two pots going with one of each. I'm doing that more from my blood pressure than anything else, though. One cup is fine, but two cups of regular makes me very uncomfortable with nervous jitters rather than energy.

I do have to say that I used to be a whole pot a day coffee drinker. I drank it all day long, and it was always the high-test stuff. It never seemed to bother or help weight loss. It was just something else I consumed that didn't seem to factor in.

                Re: Coffee effects

Well third day into half Columbian and half decaf. It isn't as good as all hi-test, but that has its virtures too. Because it isn't quite so tasty I have been choosing to drink less. Down to a cup or maybe a cup and a half in the a.m. and one cup after dinner. That's down from 4 cups of strong coffee a day. Not so bad. Next week I will try to cut it to 1/3 Columbian.

                  Re: Coffee effects

I don't feel like I'm addicted to coffee or caffeine in general, but then again denial and I are old friends. I'm drinking mostly decaf now, and I think it's more of a habit than anything because I certainly don't get an "up" from it. But I do enjoy something warm and soothing to drink in the mornings and for some strange reason I can't drink any kind of tea. It makes me nauseous. My dad used to say that he had to have his coffee in the mornings "to get the cobwebs out" Haha. I just drink maybe one or two cups now with a packet of Splenda and a little splash of heavy cream.
