    Today is lucky number 13!

I'm back. Last night, I had a wake up call when a girl at work said she wanted pictures of everyone for an album she's making and I flashed a smile and struck a pose... Then, she flipped over the camera (digital of course) and I was humiliated. My stomach was huge... my face engorged... it was gross.

So, it was what I needed to come back. I had eggs with cheddar and ham this morning with water for breakfast... and I'm off to work to eat some yummy goodness there I think I'll have grilled chicken and yero sauce for lunch! Yummers!

I hope everyone has a great 13th of December! Stay legal!

haha.....i have had to recheck myself too lately and this morning had a omelet with some cheese and a large glass of water. then later i did have a cup of coffee but no sugar in it....and with cream. i am starting in with the pushups again but need to get my eating down to a science, and i am far from that at this point.

regardless, checking in for the day....i am here and trying to stay focused!!

Good morning everyone! Welcome back plsmachic !

Today is day 3 for me. As of last night I was down 5 pounds from Wednesday evening. I know it's only water weight, but it still makes me feel good. My energy is great, my appetite is suppressed, and I feel better overall. This, of course, is not a surprise to me or probably to any of you. We know how good a low-carb lifestyle is for us. I'm thankful for that and for this board !

This time around I'm doing Induction without ANY sweeteners (no diet soda, no sugar-free gum, no packets of splenda, nada). It's only been a few days, but it hasn't been difficult at all. My addiction (or maybe just habit) was to have a Diet Dew every morning. Even when I went to Madrid in '07 and Vancouver in '08 I packed Diet Dew in my suitcase ~ one for every day of the trip ~ LOL!

      Enjoy the weekend!

        Re: Roll Call 12-13-8

Hi, all. I'm also back. I got down to a low weight of 191 this time last year, and then regained 50 pounds over the past year. It amazes me how I've let myself get out of control... and how quickly the weight has piled back on. I'm restarted countless times over the past year. I gave away all my fat clothes and am having trouble fitting into most of my new skinny clothes. I refuse to buy a new fat wardrobe (thank goodness for body slimmers, which help me just barely squeeze into some of what I have).

Anyway, I'm on day 3. Felt awful last night -- I've never had induction flu hit quite like that. I'm feeling better, now, though, so I'm hoping I'm on the upswing.

My problem is getting sloppy/overconfident after a few days on track. I either eat something from a restaurant that I know has questionable ingredients, or I let myself get in a bind, and then eat something Atkins-legal, but not induction legal. Both of these things keep me from getting deep into induction/ketosis. So this time, it's 100% legal, by the book. One hour at a time.

Hi everyone! Today is my 3rd day back and while it is going while I am finding myself feeling pretty hungry today, but that is to be expected. Days 3 and 4 of induction are typically the hardest for me. I feel that if I can get through tonight (3 parties to go to) then I will be past the hump! The first party is a nephew's b-day party and I'm positive I can stay strong there - I will be too busy chasing young children to even think about eating! I'm going to pack snacks and eat on the way to the second party which is a housewarming party. Then I will eat more snacks in the car on the way to the 'adult' Christmas party. Tomorrow I will plan out my menu for the week - including snacks - and then go grocery shopping. That is all I have planned for tomorrow because I know it will be so important to be prepared these next few weeks.

            Good Morning Everyone,
Welcome back plasmachic. I was just thinking about the distortion of camera lenses...
I'm on day 9 of induction. Cynthia, what kind of snacks do you pack? I could use some ideas. Sometimes I get grossed out by this diet! Although I resisted using artificial sweetners last night I wanted something different. So I went to the store and got Cream, splenda, and vanilla. I put one packet of splenda in with about a third of a cup of cream and a dash of vanilla. That whipped into about a cup of whipped cream. I ate half of that and saved the rest in the fridge. It was yum! Then I made the mistake of going on the net to look at possible side effects of splenda and was not impressed. Then I looked at stevia, and it looks like a better option that splenda. Anyone have any thoughts on splenda or stevia? I really need a special treat in induction (and beyond) and am trying to find one. I have noticed that I did not feel anything weird about the splenda after eating it, but maybe I should just try whipping the cream, with a little vanilla, leaving out any sweetner.... Looking at this treat it looks like it just has two carbs in what I ate, unless I need to include carb for the dash of vanilla.
            Thanks.
            Al

Hello All, It is good to see so many people here! Welcome back, Adena! Welcome back, Plsmachic!

I'm still sick today but I'm finally hungry and also keeping some food down. I had an egg this morning and a small salad for dinner along with a crazy amount of water to keep myself hydrated. I find sometimes that when I'm sick I think I'm entitled to saltine crackers so I'm feeling proud of myself that I've stuck to plan through this! The new 6WEC starts tomorrow and I am SO excited about it! I'll be taking it easy for a few days until I'm feeling better but I'm really looking forward to it! When I've passed mirrors for the past few days I stop and look because I can really tell that I'm smaller, it is amazing to me that I can see it!

                  hi everyone!

I have to admit, I've been a bit lazy lately. like, not caring to ask if wings are floured (will not TOUCH breaded), etc. time to be a bit more careful again, even though I'm down another couple of lbs. I can't afford to slack yet!

I made some low carb rumballs this morning and they are AWESOME. I think I'll be fine with the whole baking this this xmas.

I am still here and working at getting started. I am determined to do this. I know I need to manage the stress in my life right now better. I have a really bad habit of turning to sweets and carbs when I am stressed. I have to start at square one again tomorrow.
