  • Roll Call Monday 2/23

Well here I am - dang period started so the scale shows 2 lbs more than yesterday. I hate that - but I know WHY it does that. So I'm off the scale for a couple of days.

Sitting back drinking my coffee - then off to do chores and then deliver eggs to places, take the kids to the library and stuff like that. No motivation when it's Day 1...... gotta try remembering to take Midol and see if it helps.

    Have a good day guys!!

Good morning all! tomorrow is weigh-in and I am hoping I have time to flush out all the sodium from chinese last night. Going to be extra watering today . Have a wonderful day and don't forget to ask yourself "why" you are doing this.

      Re: Roll Call Monday 2/23

Weighed in today with a 2 pound loss over the weekend...294.6...went up to 295 after breakfast. 294 will be a 30 pound loss for me, 25 on the program and 5 previously when I was just doing the whole "eat less and suffer" diet.
I'm going to try making some flax bread tonight to see how it turns out. I'm the one who previously made a flax pizza that I likened to wet cat litter (sounds good, huh?). I think I'm going to spread it very thin and bake it a little longer to try to make it crispy, almost like a cracker. Hopefully it will be good enough to spread a little cream cheese or put some pepperoni and cheese on as a snack. If it is, I'm really looking forward to eating a burger that I can hold instead of cut up!

        Good Morning all..........

Weighed in at gaining 1lb this morning........... been stalled for over a week now and then a gain of 1 lb?

I've had horrible horrible constipation last week....... and felt like crap... guess that would be why huh???

down on the water some but was taking metamucil and then made hot flax meal on Thursday and still not much help.... but doing better yesterday...

Had some summer sausage on Saturday and Sunday, so I bet the salt was a contributing factor..... so it's more water and another 2 weeks induction....

Jon, I made the flaxseed pizza crust last night and it was OK. I used 4 oz cream cheese, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup flax seed and 4 oz of mozzarella. I put it in a 9.75 inch pyrex and baked it at 425 for 25 minutes. I took it out of the pyrex and flopped it upside-down on a baking sheet. After that I just left it in the oven to crisp up with the oven off and door cracked, kinda like you do for a cheesecake. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have broiled it after baking it. It would have been much crispier. Oh well, I got to eat my "mistake". I've also learned that only doing a small pizza like that is best for me because I will always eat the whole thing. With that much flax seed, you won't crap again. Ever.

            Re: Roll Call Monday 2/23

Hey all -- this is my first roll call!!!

I am on my first day of induction; although, this is definitely not my first induction. I hope this induction is just like riding a bike and I will be a healthy weight in no time. I have done the induction many times, first go around I lost 17lbs -- kept it up and lost over 100lbs. I went through many life changes; moved from Arizona to Maine, went from a stay-at-home mother to a full-time worker bee, and gained the 100lbs back. I threw out my big clothes when I first lost the weight. I started as a size 20/22 and went down to a size 10. I have purchased 12s, 14s, 16s, 18s, and I am now back to 20s. My main goal this week is not to get on the scale until Sunday morning!! The scale makes me very happy at times but it also makes me crazy. If I get on the scale and do not see a change, I will get discouraged and stop - so I am not going to do it.

            Happy Monday everyone

Good Morning all. Tough weekend for me,and was up 1 lb on the scale. But it's my fault, and I cheated for no reason at all! Well, I've got to move on now, and work it off. Only 3 more days till vacations, and hopefully a 2 lb weight loss! Have a great day everyone.

Thanks, T.J.! That's a recipe I didn't see or try before, so I'll give it a shot as a pizza crust. Do you think that would also work as a piece of bread? Did you use the golden or the brown meal? Not sure I can get past the look of the brown, but maybe the cream cheese will help.
Either way, I'm giving it a shot tonight.

Good Morning... I just want to say I am back on induction. I went down that slippery slope this weekend and dang near fell on my a**.

Well I am back up on my own two feet again. It was my son's birthday this weekend and I knew it would be difficult to stay on plan. Somehow I convinced myself that it was a good excuse to go off plan on Friday.

My scale had not been moving like I wanted it too either. So there were many factors getting me down. So here is to a clean 14 day induction starting today.

Hi Everyone- I am still here too! Cheated big time and got frustrated over the weekend as I did not FEEL like I was losing anything. Did not have the nerve to get on the scale today. NEW induction today for 2 weeks. I really think I was eating too much and too many "hidden" carbs. I do have a question... I looked on the Hellman's mayo bottle and although is says 0 Carbs, I see "sugar" in the ingredients! Am I just that stupid? Do you all make your own Mayo too or know a good brand? Good luck everyone to a good week. That is the beauty of Mondays-it seems to signify a new beginning for us! Let's not give up. I will weigh in for sure next Monday when i have the nerve. I have to get this surgery before Summer!

here, and actually pretty excited to be back on induction, believe it or not. it'll be good to get back to basics and get rid of all the junk. I'm toying with the idea of doing it sweet-free, at least for a few days, but I want to eat xylitol because of its anti-candida properties. so maybe a couple of days sweet-less.

I self medicated with carbs last night. and I don't miss them today, thank goodness. good thing I didn't go full-on with sugar yesterday, or I'd be suffering today!

anyhoo, hope you're all having a great day.

The recipe was in the recipe forum, but I cut it in half so I wouldn't over eat. Pizza is one of my kryptonite foods. My flax seed is pretty dark, but it certainly isn't like cat litter. I saw your cat litter post and checked mine, but honestly couldn't tell. I thought it tasted fine. When I get home I'll check, but it didn't say on the box. Anyway, as far as bread goes, I think it's a bit heavy and greasy. If I was really wanting bread though, I would have at it. I would go very thin with it.

                          Happy Monday STAC'ers

I had a decent weekend. I weighed this morning and I am still 210#. So no loss's or gains. I guess I need to add that to my siggy. Hubby is definatley coming home tonight so I will make up a batch of those heroin wings for dinner. Yesterday I manged about 2 liters of water but still no where near the 3 liters that I am trying for..... Oh yeah- I had my first berries Saturday. Blueberries, black berries, raspberries, and a strawberry- I made a vanilla mousse and added 1/2 cup of berries (fresh). Yummy. I will try them again today.

Todays goals: 3 liters of water, clean up the house, organize my work supplies, take some older samples to the mission, wash my dogs, and wii sports for 30-45 minutes. My duaghter is home sick so I may need to take her to the dr as well.

I did get a large package of ground flax seed last week and some coconut flour as well as macadamian nut butter.... I had visions of yummy cookies. Lets just say that the cookies went in the trash. I will try flax seed pumpkin pancakes some time this week. But I realize that the flax has a very distinct flavor I am not sure I could handle it in pizza crust.

Yesterday I made an upside down pizza quiche. I layered the salami, pepperoni & browned meat on my pie plate. Then I added shredded mozz. I used a food handleing glove and I pressed the cheese into the meat. Then I poured the egg mixture over the top and sprinkled my vegis and some more cheese onto top. I baked it and then before I eat it I add a spoon full of marinara sauce.

Sorry Chica- I hate that for worse reasons. I try not to have mine ever. My dr just changed me from Yaz to the nuvo ring so I have pretty much managed to only have 3 last year. Hopefully this year I will only have the ones I had last month..... TOM kills me- I have terrible cramps where my husband wants to take me to ER. So I just say NO to TOM

Jon- finally a name. Congrats to your loss even with the alcohol on Friday

Chera- hang in there. Learn to let the small gains on the scale go. Our weight is always in flux. The water will release. I don't see any reason to stay on induction. I believe that moving onto the first rung is important- it is only veggis. You need them in order to get more variety (at least I did) otherwise I will get bored with what I am eating.

TJ- do you feel like the flax pizza crust is something that you are going to keep in your stack of good recipes? I know that you enjoyed the quesso crust alot. Which was better?

                          Welcome HJC

Well it seems like we have a few people starting induction today- Good luck.

First time on roll call in a while. Goals for the week include signing back on to the bulletin board. And calling to make a 2 week appointment for a mani-pedi to celebrate clean induction. Hope to lose 2 lbs by next Sunday and exercise everyday this week. 3 x booked for weight training and 3 x cardio (45 min. walk-run). No exercise today though. S-

Hopefully I'll see 209 for my "Biggest Losers Challenge" weigh-in tomorrow, but 210 will be okay too - that'd be 2 pounds lost since last Tuesday and nothing to be sad about! I just like the sound of 209

Chica = hang in there! I used to have a hard time with TOM but was fortunate and had the darned organ removed last spring. Of course, I still get the lovely hormone headaches once a month. Last time I was on Atkins I had regular TOM visits... I found I would want to eat more and I gave in to that urge. Sometimes I'd even grab an Atkins chocolate bar and that made my brain very happy I rarely have them (about once a month or longer), but during TOM it was almost a necessity! And I'm not a chocolate lover!!

Guekjian = In a pinch I've had a hotdog. If the next time you're at your son's hockey game and the dogs are calling, grab a bunless one with a little mustard. It'll curb the craving and for the cost of only about 2 carbs. Sure it's processed, but I say don't torture yourself... in my opinion that can lead to real cheats! Good luck on your water goal!

Jon = congrats on that 2 pounds down! And I hope you enjoy your flax bread!!

Chera = Just keep drinking that water... and try some more veggies for fibre

HJC = Welcome and good luck! The way of eating (WOE) is fantastic!

Cruisergal = Too bad about the 1 pound gain, but I'm sure you'll get to your mini-goal before your trip. Lucky you going on a cruise!

Shaunawa = You'll make this happen... we're rooting for you!

Cara = Helmans Mayo is great. Don't worry about the "sugar" on the label, just count 1 carb for each serving (check label - probably 1 Tbls). Same goes is you see this on salad dressing labels, accompanied with a low carb count.

Julie = Glad to hear your hubby will be home tonight!

Peacefull = Hope it feels good to be back Looks like you have some great goals set out for yourself.

Hope everyone has a great cheat-free day!!
