Good Morning Everyone... I am here up bright and early even though I didn't get home last night until 11:15...daughter had a dance recital...

So some things that happened yesterday that I am quite proud of myself...

We stopped at a drug store for eyeliner..and the baseball team was selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts..well of course you know I wanted to support them..but I sat in the car fighting with myself.. you know if you buy those for the kids you are going to get into them.. So I didn't buy them...

I had plans to go to Cracker Barrel for an early dinner...well my daughters first show went on way too long and we ended up at Chick Fil A... I stuck to a Grilled Chicken Salad..

Little discouraged today..I am only down 1lb.. But after losing 12lbs last week that is probably normal and next weeks weigh in should be nicer

Hope you all have a great day...me...I am going to work on my taxes!

Sandy, congrats on your loss and your willpower. Krispy Cremes are tough. I saw 196 on the scale this morning, but I won't claim it as mine. It was 196.8. I should be able to claim it tommorw or the next day. That would be two pounds for the month. I'm creeping along but feeling great.

I smoked 10 lbs of chicken leg quarters last night. I marinated them in mediteranean vinegar dressing and rubbed them with garlic, cayenne pepper and lemon pepper. They smell awesome, I just have to broil them today to crisp up the skin. They were on sale for $0.47 a pound. Looks like I'll be eating next week for less than $5.00. Who says this WOE has to be expensive.

Today is sheets day at my house. 3 loads of sheets and vacuuming the house is on the agenda today. I should be able to squeeze in a workout and take my son to baseball practice. I might just get some yardwork in also. The dollar weed is taking over my lawn. Have a great day everyone!

Morning everyone! I stepped down another pound to 198. Even better than that...I KNOW it'll be much less after one very welcome overdue trip to the bathroom. I need more FIBER. I stopped consuming the pumpkin for a few days just to see if it was holding back any weight loss. Well, apparently it does help in all departments so it'll be coming back soon! I have at least 2 pounds of steak in me and it's gotta go!

Was craving a delicious steak (beef) on Friday. I stopped at the grocery store for JUST steak...(haha $83.00 later) and I found they had t-bone steak on sale for half price!! I bought 4 of them. I don't eat a lot of red meat because I can't afford it and hamburgers get old! I have missed steak! Sooooo good and the fat is too! I'll return for more before the sale goes bye bye! I have read on here many times that people seem to have more weight loss when they consume red meat....anybody notice this or think there's something to it?

I did 4+ hours of yard work and gardening yesterday. I woke up with frozen arms, shoulders, back and legs! Spring has sprung, I suppose! So glad I did it though. Pulling and yanking on weeds and crab grass does so much to alleviate aggression!!

          Hello hello

I'm here and moving slowly today - just had a bowl of broccoli & cheese for breakfast - I needed a vacay from eggs. I'm holding steady at 202.6 the past couple days.

I have lots of grocery shopping & cooking to do today to prepare for this week. It's going to be a busy one and I need to make sure I am ready.

We got a new DVD player at Walmart yesterday so I can get back to my weight training & Pilates workouts. I have to say the prices on those have come down so much over the years .. I think we paid $60 for the last one 5 years ago.. this one was $20? LOL amazing

Anyhow, have a great day everyone!!

            Re: Roll Call Sunday 3/22/09

Good Morning everyone! Today is day 14 of Induction for me and I'm down a total of 12 pounds! It kinda snuck up on me, I almost didn't realize that it's been two weeks already! I'm happy with the loss and I'll be moving on to OWL Rung 1 tomorrow. I don't like to stay on extended induction, it seems like it slows my weight loss down and I get REALLY BORED. I did a completely clean Induction, probably need to work on my water intake though.
Today is grocery shopping day for me, not my favorite thing to do, but I guess it has to be done right?!
Congrats on sticking it out Sandy! Krispy Cremes are EVIL! lol. Your doing fantastic!

              Re: Roll Call Sunday 3/22/09

              Mornin' everyone.

Sandy, just for the record, Krispy Kreme fundraisers have snatched me off the wagon before. Those cute little boys in their baseball uniforms standing on the sidewalk at the stop light. And I can't just eat one bite or one donut. Once I eat a bite, I rationalize that I've blown it so I might as well eat the whole dozen. Anyway, good for you passing on by.

It sucks that you didn't get Cracker Barrell. :-( The one here in Commerce doesn't have the low carb menu specifically, anymore, but you can still order low carb stuff. I get the sides and give them to my husband. Also, be careful, because they call it "low carb" toast but I checked and it's just whole wheat toast so it still has a lot of carbs.

As for ChicFilA, good job leaving the breaded chix alone. That's hard, isn't it? I've had people ask me why I can't just peel off the breading. I haven't checked on this but I'm a little suspicious of their chix anyway. Doesn't it taste like it's been injected or marinated in something with sugar?? I haven't had the grilled chix. Does it taste a little sweet? Anyway...good choices, Sandy. you are just trucking on down the ticker. Inspirational...

Glenda, I'm so glad that you wrote that you had your food planned for the day. Here in front of my computer is a little list I wrote yesterday of my food plan and I was afraid I was being obsessive. My Weigh Day is in the morning and I want to get it right today.

I want some of that smoked chicken, TJ. I went in Bilo yesterday to get some of those BOGOF Nathan's hot dogs and I scanned the meat aisle out of habit. They had these packages of chix thighs, two to a tray, marked down to around $1/piece. Then there was a clearance sticker for an additional 50 cents off. I got everyone they had.

Everlosing, I really want to go to the bathroom today before I get on the scale in the morning!!!!! I had my flax seed meal last night and I'll have some again today. I'll be discouraged if I have to get on the scale in the morning without that trip!!!! I saw your title on the front board about red meat. I need to read it, I may be having ribeye for supper.

Dana, you can really get a DVD player for $20??? Wow, we just have Direct satellite and I don't so movies but for $20? Oops, it ain't in the budget. Oh, well.

Mrs. Davis, you rock. You want to start a thread here in STAC (not out there in the real world ) and see if anyone wants to start OWL on Monday, March 23. I'll jump in with you...

Hey all, it is almost bedtime here already but I am checking in. Had a great day! mushroom and cheese omelet for brekkie and then I lifted weights for about 90 minutes. I walked a mile tonight (with the dog) and painted and sculpted this afternoon. It was 75 degrees and breezy today. Great day all around!

oh... cracker barrell.... thankfully driving to one is far from my house or I might never be successful on this WOE...

                  I'm here.

Kelly, crockpot some of those thighs! Marinate them overnight in a cup of vinegar, a cup of teriyaki, some chili powder, some curry powder, and some garlic. Crock pot them for about 6 hours (the vinegar cooks off). Bake them at 425 for half an hour to crisp the skin. You can sprinkle them with your choice of spices if you wish. Almost as good as smoking them. You can rice some cauliflower and eat that with some of the crock pot juices to season the "rice". That part was Julie's idea, it was really tasty. I usually sprinkle some cayenne pepper on them prior to crisping the skin. I love hot foods, especially the combination of heat and teriyaki.

Question on the teriyaki, TJ. For some reason I'm thinking that it's full of sugar. I haven't bought it in ages... I'll recheck 'cause I love crockpot cookin'. Thanks for the idea. I've got to try the rice cauliflower. I love cauliflower so much that when I cook it in the microwave, I just go ahead and eat it and skip the riced part...

Right now I'm making my husband some chicken and dumplins for supper.

                          Happy Sunday STAC'ers

I am still sick.My nose won't stop running. FUN for SURE.... Not! Today should be interesting. I will be out all day and all I want to do is sleep.

We went to Golden Coral last night for dinner. I made a great salad with ranch, I had steak, mushrooms and zuchini. And then I had 4 tiny bites of pineapple with whip cream (just a small spoon) for dessert. I also had grabbed 1/2 of a canned pear but didn't eat it bc it was too sweet. I think I did pretty well. The pineapple didin't set off any binging last night, but I did get a serving of no bread pudding in to make sure I didin't get knocked out of ketosis just to be safe.

I managed to get my house work done, tax's ready, and PFD's all done yesterday.... Then I made a trip to wally world for a few supplies, and ran my daughter into the mall to get some jeans (we lucked out in the first store if you can believe that).

I have no idea what is for dinner. I will probably ask hubby to cook. Maybe we will have some steak too! We have a few in the freezer. I would like to make the curry chicken again but I don't feel like cooking. Hubby can make a mean BBQ (he slow cooks) and it takes forever but it is yummy.

                          Sandy great job

TJ you rock! I can't believe you find so much time to shop, clean and cook. Can you show my husband?

Everloosing you are doing great! I am right behind you sister.

Dana- I know what you mean I took last week off from eggs. But I too have a busy week and to prepare I had to make a big 9 x 13 quiche.... I just took some old tv's to charity along with vcr/dvd players and they actually had to check and make sure they were not too old (nothing analog)...

Chinadoll- 75' wow. We have 18' and about 6" of new snow....

Plsmachic- your pic looks great is that new? Have a nice double shift.

OKAY- I am off to the shower and then out to dog training all day. Have a great day gang

Hello all! Just got through mucking about in the garden ... planted tomatoes and peppers (in pots), a bunch of zinnias and wildflower seeds, sunflowers to grow up a trellis, and finally hung pots of ivy in the bird 'n butterfly garden ... they look like elegant green lace. It's a gorgeous day here in Flor-i-da, with bright sunny skies, temps in the 60s (so far), and low humidity ... that won't last! Soon it will be hot-hot-hot and so damp everything will turn green, not just the plants.
