    Re: Roll Call 4/8/09 Wednesday

    Just a quick check in...

Doing well, but 200 likes me too much and is reluctant to leave so that 199 can come for a quick visit. Oh well... I'll keep doing what I do and soon enough I'll be in one-derland!

I'm excited because I'm starting a 12 week Colour Theory course this evening! Working with and choosing colour for clients can be daunting - I'm not bad at it but I could definitely hone my skills (need a lot of practice with undertones)! Anyway... should be a good course... and my clients will benefit even more then I will!!

TJ - I'm sorry to hear about your lipid levels! Hopefully it IS an anomoly and that your new test results will be in a better range!

Becki - Take good care of yourself!

Everyone else... have a great, cheat-free day!!
    Vickie

P.S. Only 3 more days until I can claim 100 straight cheat-free days!!

    Cheat Free Days = 2

    Mini Goal = 190 - ACHIEVED! 5/17/09
OOPS = CRASH! - June through October DAMN!
    #1 Mini Goal = 200
    #2 Mini Goal = 190
    #3 Mini Goal = 180

    More Mini Goals after that!

      listen to the man!

3 more days and i'll officially be 1 month in.whoa. i've never lasted that long without cheating before! i'll get in an official 1 month weigh-in/measure this weekend, but that feels pretty secondary to the fact that i've stuck to it as well as i have. *dance*

Tfek, Why shouldn't I do the fat fast? I don't understand, you didn't convey to me why. Can you tell me why its a bad idea? Thanks.

Sorry about that Nikki! A fat fast is used only under the most dire situations and after a successful clean induction where you didn't lose any weight. You are on day 4. Next, a visit to the doctor for a round of tests is in order. I can't get to my book right now, but here is an excellent post about the process of a fat fast: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-fat-fast.html

Hang around with us losers for awhile and go the traditional route. You'll lose the weight. I went through a period where I had to buy all new pants one weekend, and get new smaller ones the next weekend.

Checking in this evening! All is well and staying strong! Taking care of Dad sometimes seems to take my strength, both mentally and physically. But, I am hanging in there. At one time, just the depression from watching my father get worse every day, would have broken my spirit and pushed me into eating. Now, I'm STRONG! It's wonderful what this WOE can do for you!!

                    Nikki,

Why not post your menu and let us all take a look at it first? Maybe you're eating something that really isn't as kosher as you think it is? Can happen to anyone.

You're definitely not supposed to do a fat fast until after you've finished a clean induction and gotten an idea about your metabolic resistance.

Are you perhaps near your TOM? That would keep the scale from moving.

                      Here's my late check in.

Today is my 21st day and I really can't remember why I ever stopped this WOE before. I feel so much better. And my husband's moods have stabilized. No more Mr. Grumpy around meal time!

I was down another pound today for a grand total of 12 lbs in 3 weeks.

                      Sweet.

                        Tfek,

I'm sorry to hear about your results and hope the new ones are better.

Have you had your thyroid checked? For some people, that can cause cholesterol numbers to rise. You'd need to have your TSH, FT3 & FT4 numbers run to know if you're developing (or already have) a problem.

Tfek, I know I'm not metabolic resistant, lol, I just wanted some results--quick.

                              Nikki,

Just get right back on and start again tomorrow.

I know induction can be rough. But if you can get through it, you always feel better on the other side.

For me, when I started again this time, I was ravenous. I swear I felt like I could have eaten my way through a side of beef. I didn't but I felt it.

My husband was, pardon my french, a whiny jackass. It hits everyone differently. I always like to think of it as the death keel of the old way of eating. It's not gonna let go without a fight!

A little over 2 weeks later and we're living in harmony again. No more crazy hunger, no more mood swings, it's bliss!

You can do it!. If you're having a really hard time with the scale, why not put it away for the 2 weeks? Get your starting weight and don't weigh again until you're finished with induction. Imagine how neat it will be to see all that weight go all at once!

Also, we cleared out all the bad food before we started. Gave it all away. I for one can't do this if I have bad options hanging out within my reach.
