Okay, a pattern has formed that is totally out of control. Every work day (haven't noticed this on the weekends) I seem to have a blood sugar crash about mid morning and mid afternoon.
I am eating. Every work day, I take bacon, eggs and one cup of pumpkin to work. Sometimes I also have almonds. I graze on the pumpkin all morning long, I don't scarf all the carbs down at once. For lunch, I take tuna with mayo and some form of veggie.
I found myself face down on my desk today. I was loopy, totally out of it, confused, slurred speech. The people in my office were freaking out. They basically fed me sugar and within 15 or 20 minutes I felt better except for the fact that I DON'T EAT SUGAR!!! It didn't knock me out of ketosis but something has got to give here. I got the lectures at work about abusing my body to drop the weight I have, that I've become obsessed, blah, blah, blah. I'm not interested in any of those opinions. I need facts.
Why is this happening? What can I do to prevent it? I'm researching it online but want direct experiences from those who follow Atkins.
Side note--I am going to the doctor at the end of the month for 6 month blood work. Can't get in before then because I've arranged time off work for it. A coworker is bring a monitor in tomorrow to test my blood sugar when I go stupid again. That could be interesting.
