  • I messed up on day 5!!!

OK, I'm starting this up again for the 2nd time after losing 30lbs almost 6 years ago and gaining 58lbs since then!

I have been doing really good for the past 5 days and not even craving sweets. Today, just 5 minutes ago, I ate 3 chocolate chip cookies Total carb for the 3 are 30carbs. I'm on day 5 of induction so I'm back to square one!

Ugh! I'm so mad at myself, but they tasted so good...lol.

I was thinking to myself, "oh well, I guess I'll start back up tomorrow." But NO WAY! I'm going right back on it and having low carb dinner like the cookies never happened, cause if I give in now I'll never come back.

OK, just had to come in here and post this to get support and to realize I'm not alone, I'm doing this alone anymore, I have a group I can come to.

    Thanks for reading

Yep--I know how that is. Just get back up and start where you left off. It may take you a few days to get back into ketosis, so you might see a bit of gains, but hang in there, the quicker you get back on, the quicker you will see your losses again.

Thank you, Kristi! I'm hoping I don't see a gain at all I had already lost 3 lbs when I checked this morning after 5 days and have been in ketosis since day 2 so I was excited!

But I have already started my dinner for tonight and am back on focus!

Good girl! That kind of thinking, "Gee, I already blew it, I might as well ride out the day and eat whatever" has kept me falling on my face more times than I care to admit for a year and a half! I'm so slow to get back into ketosis, 4-5 days usually, that by the time I did, I'd cheat and fall on my face again! Now I have to admit to myself that I need to go back to the beginning and start over, because I donated all of my "fat clothes" and have no desire to re-purchase them!!!

Instead of thinking that tomorrow is a new day, I need to think "the next meal is a new chance to do it right." Everyone goofs from time to time. One failure is only one failure, better not to let it multiple into two, three, four... a year and a half... LOL!

Good words, Sue. Man, I had a struggle of my own today, and I love coming here and reading about other people having victory, it's super helpful.

Joan--so glad to hear you are back on track! Great job!
