    Running!

I ran my first 5k on a treadmill today! 35mins 37 secs. Really slow but I'm working on it. I'm aiming to do 1 a week and get my time down to under 30 mins in the next 2 months!

Great start. Keep up the good work. Is your eventual aim to run a 5k race, outdoors?

      That's awesome!

I'm starting on my treadmill as well...I can only hope to do a 3k let alone a 5k in that time frame.

        Thanks!

Rich: Yeah I want to start running outdoor 5k races in the not too distant future. there's loads in Hyde Park in London, and also around the docklands. I do need to improve my times though, I'm NOT coming last hahaha

Garwil, you will not come last with that time, but it is every runners fear that they will finish last. I still do that at every race I enter now, standing on the start line I look round trying to spot the people that I can beat.......

My most recent 5k, the last person finished in 41 minutes. You will beat that.

Fanastic! Who cares about the speed. I am a runner. Ran my first 1/2 marathon in April. Keep going as slow as you need, not that you were slow. At first, go for distance or time on the treadmill. Your speed will eventually go up as you run longer. You will be amazed. But, I think that is a great time!!!!!!!! You should be so proud of yourself. It reminds me that I should get back on the treadmill. Thanks for the inspriration!

Great job Garwil! Wanted to add to not fear being last. The true last place goes to those who didn't even try. While you are out running they are on the couch watching TV and eating a bag of chips. That makes you a winner by default.

Great job, garwil! That time is pretty darn good, if ya ask me. I ran my first half-marathon in March, which I guess makes me officially a runner, yet your 5k time is faster than mine! So, don't sweat it -- you're making great time and surely will only get better.
