Nooooooooooooooooo!

Do you think that the croissants would have affected anything??

They were given to me by someone who has been on atkins for a long time, she also gave me some sweets that are 2g net carbs per bag and are made with splenda, i have been eating these, atkins advantage bars and peperamis. Do you think i need to restart?

Hi :wave Foxy
You asked about the bars etc - most of us do not eat them in induction and that might be the reason for not losing much yet if you are :sadblinky

You need to look at the list of ingredients of any processed 'low-carb' items to see if everything on the list is on the 'allowed foods' list as in DANDR or the FAQs here at ADBB.

You will probably find the bars contain things like 'soy products', 'wheat products', 'nuts', fruit' etc which means they are NOT an induction acceptable food - no matter what they might say on the pack.
These 'convenience' foods (often termed 'frankenfoods' on LC boards like ours) are only to be used when you are on the rung of OWL that contains the particular ingredients.
So if a bar contains nuts and wheat products it cant be eaten till the grains rung, if it contains soy flour and fruits it cant be eaten till the legumes rung and so on.
Once you are in the last phase of Atkins and have not have problems eating nuts or soy or grains etc you ought to be able to eat them - so pack them away in a cupboard or drawer till then. :hug

The sweets could be tricky - often they have more than JUST splenda to sweeten them. (They probably contain sugar alcohols or sugar in disguise - lactose, corn syrup etc).

There are stickies in the FAQ forum about sugar alcohols

with links to other articles on the web explaining why most of us count at least half of the sugar alcohol carbs if not all of them, and many of us have digestive problems if we do eat them :yikes

Hope this helps
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I think i am pretty much following the book, having trouble finding stuff i can grab for breakfast so bought some low carb croissants, now i am really worried that these are not allowed as i got weighed yesterday morning and had only lost 1 pound. My official weigh day (i have decided) is every Friday morning so i will just have to wait and see if i have been doing it right. Also worried as my 'burst of energy' hasn't kicked in yet!! urplequ:
hi!
I'm on day 4 (started saturday) of induction and like you, I'm worried that things are going horribly wrong :no
I have yet to feel a burst of energy as well, and I thought i'd gotten rid of those pesky headaches but today I have a splitting one...
Am too scared to weigh myself, worried it'll all be the same.
I rarely eat veg (had a bit of lettuce this lunch, might have some more later), and I take BOOTS a-z minerals and vitamins once a day. Drinking tons of water... hope it'll work urplequ:
The good news though is that my pee has ketones in it :joy

Oh well, good luck and keep us posted

ps: I hope peperami is accepted, I've been eating those too as snacks (it says they have 0.2g carbs per stick so that's not bad is it)
Going shopping today for lots of acceptable stuff

Good luck again!
