When you read the book and understand all about the blood sugar roller coaster, you can see that there's a way to keep yourself level and even, and avoid the sugar cravings and having to deal with the whole sweets monster ever again.
I am speaking as a reformed chocoholic here and there was a time where I actually said "I get anxious when there isn't chocolate in the house!!" so I know all about the sweet cravings, believe you me! :anger
It's not fun dealing with this, but the benefits very much outnumber the cranky pouty days I had working through it all.
Do I still have sweet cravings? Well..I think fondly of the treats I used to stuff my face with...but having dropped over 40 pounds, I realize what they did to me.
I chose not to find a low carb substitute for them because I realized I let treats rule my life and that when I got a craving for something sweet, it usually had very little to do with hunger and actually needing that particular food....it meant I needed an emotional boost or a pat on the back to encourage me on.
I get that now from my size 10 pants I can finally do up! And the size 18 black jeans that hang off of me like clown pants...but I can remember last year having to lay on the bed to do them up...and forget about standing in them...lol
Anyway, read the book, make sure you're doing this right, and think about your relationship with food. :yes
