Lol! I hear ya there. The first time I made the pizza my husband came home while I was preparing it for the oven and he looked at the recipe and frowned. He ended up loving it just as much as me! Now onions I could never slip in. My husband has such an intense hatred for them he actually tasted 1/8 teaspoon of onion powder that my mother in law put in a batch of enchiladas once. When I want to try a new recipe and think he might object I make it without letting him see the recipe first. hee hee hee.

This makes a big batch but it is so good I could see using it for lots of meals!

      1/3 cup salt
1/4 cup paparika (smoked Paparika would be awsome here)
      3 Tbsp chili powder
      2 Tbsp black pepper
      1 Tbsp cumin
      1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp cayanne pepper (adjust according to your preference for heat, this was medium, had some kick but wasn't painful!)

Rub into whatever meat you are cooking and enjoy!
I make a similar rub and I store it in a big container.

I make "dry ribs" in the oven. Rub the rub mix on ribs, let it sit for a few hours or overnight. To cook them I put the ribs in a large pan, cover it with aluminum foil and bake them at 250 degrees for about 4 hours. About 3/4 way through the cooking, I remove the aluminum foil (there will be a considerable amount of liquid--don't worry). I brush the ribs with a 50-50 mixture of water and vinegar. Then I continue cooking the ribs until most of the juices are evaporated and the ribs are slightly browned. Remove them from the oven, brush them again with the vinegar-water mix. Then sprinkle them with more of the dry rub. You won't miss the barbecue sauce with these ribs.
