  • A Big Hello!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I am on my first day of induction and all went well I think. I entered everything into fitday and I exercised today. I enjoy exercising so the food is my challenge. I had green peppers for a snack today and they were actually good. I thought I hated them. I am good with the meals but wonder about snacks. I have done the cheese sticks and vegs-are there any other ideas for induction?

Good luck to everyone. I have read a lot of stories on here and you all are very inspiring!

    Re: A Big Hello!

Hi, I just recently started atkins too! I am on day 3 and suprisingly I'm doing well. I have my routine down, a bunless double cheeseburger for lunch, those pork skins for a snack, i peeled and cut up some cucumber and put them in pickle juice and ate those with my dinner, which was fajitas with minimal onion and green pepper. So far, down 6lbs!

We have a forum devoted to ideas for snacks here
      http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...aysprune=&f=25

Remember if you are using veggies as snack foods not to eat them on their own but always with something high-fat - like a fullfat dressing or meat or cream cheese etc to dull the sugar spike they will give you.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I am a returning low carber and I have to tell you that it's amazing how much healthier you will feel after a while on this WOL. The funny part is that people think you don't eat veggies on Atkins but I eat way more when I'm sticking to my plan than I ever would when I just eat willy nilly (usually pizza, hamburgers, ice cream etc.) The veggies are key.

Thanks for the tip about the dressing! I ordered the book and am waiting for it to come in but I read it a few years ago.

Have you had time to look around this site yet?
The FAQ forum is full of useful threads as are also the 'sticky posts' at the beginning of all the other forums. So read those which seem relevant while you are waiting for your book to arrive.
