Hi Folks - Been really buy so haven't posted and was away for the weekend so didn't measure / weigh in.

      BUT

Hopped on the scales and am 15st even.

Sis's wedding is two weeks from Saturday and I think I should be close enough to my goal to feel like a success !!

Thanks for the positive feedback folks

        Woohoo dubguy

good job done working your Atkins!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

          Re: Noobie in Dublin, Ireland

Weighed in & measured up earlier and noticed something with the results.

I'm down another 2lb - which is good
On the inches - I'm going up in some places and down in others.
          e.g.
Waist & Hips are still dropping ( 6" off waist & 4" off hips )
Chest(44"), arms(18") & legs(27") are going back to where I started but the composition is very different.

          Question to the experts:
Should I exclude the areas with muscle growth ( I hope ) from my measurements ? - As it looks as though I'm not having any gains when I group all measurements together.

          Thanks for the input.

            Re: Noobie in Dublin, Ireland

Welcome to our group of losers. You've received some fantastic advice from Moochie and the others on READING and FOLLOWING Atkins (DANDR), drinking water, taking measurements and don't forget to exercise!!

What helped me the most when I began my journey to health and weight loss was getting into the right frame of mind. Don't focus on all the foods you miss that you used to pig out on. Instead, get excited about the foods that are on the induction list that you are allowed to eat.

There are so many SUBSTITUTES that you don't need to miss the foods your used to eating. There are recipes for Atkins pizza. Stir fry with diced cauliflower instead of rice. For chips and dip...use jicama, radishes, cucumbers with dip instead. Make chips with cheese (small piles of shredded cheese nuked for a few seconds make great chips for dipping) also pepperoni nuked to make crunchy are great. Instead of spaghetti...get used to using spaghetti squash for noodles...or slice zuchinni and use instead of potatoes or noodles. There is no reason you should feel deprived while on Atkins. If you put your creative mode into action, you will be so busy enjoying the foods you are allowed to eat that you won't miss your old way of eating.

BEST OF LUCK...keep us posted on your progress!!
