does anyone have any other diet suggestions for me? Are there any other diets i should try? Maybe i will give southbeach a try.
I am sick of being overweight, and i am sick of atkins not working...maybe im just meant to be fat
- you aren't being patient. Did it take you 6 days to gain all that weight?
- you haven't been reading. You want to lose 35 lbs. You can expect, in a two week CLEAN induction (which isn't over for you, since you cheated the first 6 days) to lose between 5% (1.75 lbs) and 10% (3.5 lbs) of the total amount you need to lose.
I'll be really blunt here. First you posted and complained about the woe and it turned out you weren't even remotely following the plan. Then you started posting about how 6 days into the plan you weren't losing. Now you are ready to give up.
This is a lifetime commitment. It is NOT a crash diet. Someone with 35 lbs to lose will NOT drop 10 lbs or even 5 lbs in the first two weeks. This is a way of eating that is guaranteed to cause you to lose weight and be healthy. If you want to give up this soon, then you are neither committed nor patient.
So, buck up. Eat 3 cups of veggies per day. Eat 65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs. Drink at least 64 oz of water per day. Do 30 minutes of cardio per day. Get in some resistence/weight training. Throw away the darned scale. Measure yourself every 2 weeks. And give your body time to release the fat.
Or, give up and find another diet that will deprive you of food and cause muscle weight loss.
Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05
218/187/140
Measuring every 2 weeks
As of 10/31/05, losta total of 56.75 inches!
Hey Anz..you know you haven't even finished your 2 weeks induction.
Any diet you try will not work if you are not willing to do the following things...READ about the plan you have chosen. UNDERSTAND the plan. Give the plan TIME to work. Atkins is not a miracle diet. It takes work. And the weight isn't going to just fall off of you in a week and a half. And the closer you are to your goal weight the slower it comes off. Sounds to me like you want instant results and that just doesn't happen.
You can go and try another diet....sure....but if you approach it like you have approached it here you are going to be sitting there with the same results.
I really think if you go buy the book and read it it will help you a lot and many of the stickies and suggestions here will make better sense to you. Atkins WORKS!
If you think there is a problem and that you are meant to be fat...go to the Doctor...get him to run some blood tests....find out if your thyriod is working okay.
Whatever plan you choose....make sure that ....like Atkins....it teaches you how to eat in a way that you can maintain...if you 'diet' and then go back how you were eating before you WILL put the weight back on!! MANY of us will attest to that. Please do not make that mistake or you will find yourself many pounds heavier than you are now.

I am sorry for being so negative...i was just so frustrated.
I am always reading people saying "wow i lost 10 lbs in the first week, i didnt know i would lose so fast" etc..
while im sitting here with no change.
I guess im just impatient. Sorry about that last post. I guess I just have to try harder. Ill give it another solid 2 weeks. Thanks guys
Alright Anz...I will put you back on my good list..for now. But I don't want to hear anymore whining! For 2 weeks!!! Yes, you will read that some people lost lots of weight...but guess what...you are not some people...you are you...and if you read the book and follow the plan and listen to the advice given here it will work. Read the book, use fitday, drink your water, keep up your running, eat until you are satisfied ONLY!
And those people that drop a lot of weight....next time...take some time to read what the start weight was and I will bet you that the majority of them have WAY MORE than 35 pounds to lose.
