We really do not have a clear idea of what 7 or 15 or 35 pounds really is, and I urge everybody to do as someone said and find something that weighs the amount of what you lost and carry it around for a while.
When I had lost 36 pounds, bf and I picked up a 15 kg bag of kitty litter, which is about 33 pounds. I carried it to the car, and it absolutely astounded me that I used to cart that around on my body! I had to put it down halfway between the store and the car!
It's just mindbending to connect it all together like that!
One gallon of water weighs just over 8 pounds (or for us Canucks, a liter of water weighs just over 2 pounds) for future reference.
Oh Moochiecat, Thank you!! You look GREAT in your pics! I remember when you started.
I was soo happy to see a lot of the same people 'from the old days' still here and taking care of themselves. I had lost 70 lbs....thought I looked good and went back to the sick eating. I have learned a lot and smarter now. Just because someone says how good I look....doesn't mean stop this way of eating and go to crap food. I also found myself upset the other day and grab some peanuts.....Thankfully, the ah huh moment hit and I thought what am I doing? I proudly put the down.
I got a PM this morning and I have to say...the kindness made me cry. I am not alone in this journey and there are people who care.
Like soo many say....its one day at a time....thats all I can do.
I'm really, really proud of you for waiting and not being a slave to the scale.
I'd like you and everyone to notice how intially a person will take that number off the scale and draw a conclusion from it. whether your conclusion is positive or negative, it is important to recognise that the scale is just a very small part of the picture in terms of the success you can experience on atkins.
be wise and don't use a number to define you, and remember to look at all the other ways you have grown. are you eating more? eating healthy food? have you stopped buying junk food? trying new ways to cook? how do I love atkins? let me count the ways!!!
congrats on those 7 pounds, and remember they represent so much more than weight. they represent your willingness to embrace a lifestyle that ill nuture you and lead you to good health.

You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. ~Maya Angelo~
