And the opinion often given by health 'professionals' and the media that Atkins is a meat cheese and eggs only regime.

I was told by someone today "I couldnt do Atkins as I love my vegetables too much!"
She was amazed when I told her that on induction she would be eating more than the 'recommended 5 portions' a day and then increasing them up to perhaps double that if she chooses!!

I told her ADBB's url and hope she at least visits to lurk!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

I hope she comes aboard also! Even though I disagree now with those who think Atkins is unhealthy, I understand where they're coming from. For years I refused to even consider Atkins - because of the way the doctors and the media portrayed the program... But after years of struggling and trying many other "diets", Atkins is the only one that has given me any results - and I feel so much better! If only we could make everyone try Atkins for two weeks… then they'd "get it"...

That's weird. I was about to post a similar message but I did a search and found this one.

I was running today and trying to exert as much effort as I could, and I started seeing stars, really they looked like sparks in front of my eyes. I am used to running long distances, so conditioning is not an issue.

I'm doing extended induction, but I'm eating all my veggies and drinking plenty of water. I was wondering if maybe there is some vitamin I'm missing out on. I'm taking Centrum Performance multivitamin, but maybe there is something I need to supplement.

Another note, many years ago I tried Atkins briefly, but stopped. About a week into it, I was watching a football game and jumped up when a big play happened. I almost blacked out and had to sit back down immediately, like I'd just been hit with a brickbat.
