  • WHIPPED TOPPING. Allowed? nutritional info included

I know heavy cream etc is allowed. But this one is sketchy. I thought I would make sure:

    It's called just Whipped Topping

Ingrediets: Water, hydrogenated palm kernel and coconut oils, corn syrup solids(sketchy, again), sugar (super sketchy), sodium caseinate, polysorbate 60, guar gum, etc etc

    NUTRITIONAL FACTS

    Per 2 tbsp

    Calories: 25
    Fat: 1.5 g
    Carbohydrates: 2 g
    Sugars: 1 g
    Protein: 0 g

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but....Nope..nope and nope.

If it was born in a lab, then it shouldn't go into your body. The corn syrup and sugar are definite no-no's, and all those chemicals aren't good for a body that's being fed whole, natural foods. You're much better off beating some heavy cream. Just remember that cream is limited, and it stalls some people....

kk i already had 2 tbsp without knowinggg thnk god i decided to make suree *whew* ALSO next question, how important is variety of food? I seem to be having a lot of cheese and eggs.

As a matter of fact, I ended up having THREE eggs today. Is this bad ? No effect? Could this make ur body get used to that, and that only?

      Thanks,

I'd advise a wide variety of food simply because you're going to get reeeeeeeaaaaaally tired of eggs if you eat them everyday. But 3 eggs in one day is certainly not bad. Just remember that each one has .6g of carbs that needs to be counted. Also, cheese is limited too. It is key for you to get in your veggies along with your protein.

I agree totally...anything that says hydrogenated is terrible for you. If most ingredients are chemicals and you can't pronounce them, my advice is to trash it

Vanilla extract has sugar if you can believe it, but its not a lot. Variety is good because you get a lot of great vitamins and minerals that way. Also, you can easily get bored with your choices.

My sister found a can of whipped cream sweetened with splenda and states it has no carbs in it, which she uses to top decap coffee/mochas...or even just help with a sugar craving. Is this product allowed during Induction?

Why not make your own with the amount (3 ounces per day - page 129 red book) allotted daily? It's easy and cheaper to whip together yourself anyway; just add a packet of Splenda!

                      It's super easy.

Throw some heavy whipped cream in a bowl, add a bit of splenda and a bit of vanilla if you feel like it (I usually add a drop or two of almond extract) and then beat the heck out of it with a mixer. It'll whip up in just a few minutes and it's divine!

Okay, okay - I admit it - I'm the whip cream addict. I was sure that it was allowed. yikes. I was a cheater and I didn't know it. Got any suggestions to ward off my sugar cravings or a replacement?

To be brutally frank - avoid all sweeteners for a week or so!!

This might seem harsh but many of our members (me included) found that if we could do it our sugar monster shrivelled up and died from lack of sweets and we are no longer plagued by cravings for sweet stuff!

I now find that berries and even tomatoes taste sweet to me and I dont need to sweeten dishes to any extent.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Sounds like wise words from a wise woman - so I've laid of the splenda completely. I know - who would have thought. I'm actually feeling better then ever about me doing this diet. I've worked out 4x this week, I'm drinkin the water like its going out of style, and following the rules. I'm proud of myself.

No more whip cream & no more splenda! Promise. (& I'm not crossing my fingers) hehe
