Hi Pennie! Hey, I read your fitday journal and noticed a meal was missing. Are you skipping a meal or just spreading out your food into snack sized meals? Are you just not hungry anymore? The reason I am asking is because I am finding that my appetite just doesn't exist too much lately, but I am still eating every 6 hours as recommended by Dr. Atkins. I find it hard to do though when He says to eat until you feel satisfied, but what if your already satisfied and not even hungry!? <anyone else reading this can answer that if they have btw >
I noticed you aren't eating very many calories..your not calorie watching are ya?
    I did it!!

actually he doesn't recommend that when you have no hunger and are using the six hour rule. he says in DANDR to have a small protein/fat SNACK with some of your carbs ( that woukd be the veggies not candy or frankenfood carbs)

So when you aren;t hungry eat small to keep your blood sugar stable and when your hunger returns eat enough to satisfy it.

    Happy low carbing.

Hey Coitrina! Your before and after pictures are looking GREAT!! Your doing AWESOME!!

I have been very busy these past few weeks and I haven't had time to eat breakfast until it's almost lunch time so I have been making sure that I get a late afternoon veggie in as my "lunch/snack" so my blood sugars stay stable.

I am NOT touching that calorie watching question (can you blame me??) but after loosing 7lbs during induction and than loosing nothing for the next 5 1/2 weeks I made myself become more "aware" of what I was eating. I started cutting down on little things like only using 1 tbls of salad dressing instead of 2 and cutting back on Mayo, little things like that, and within 2 weeks of being more "aware" I lost 3lbs... I think it kick started my body back into loosing mode.

Yeah, but sometimes I'm not even hungry for a snack KWIM? I eat breakfast with my husband at 4:30 am because that is what time he gets up to go to work. I get my daughter off to school @7:30 and then it's just me and the baby until 2pm. I take a nap with her between 9 am and 12pm <give or take> then I'm back up for the rest of the day. I'm usually not hungry..even for a snack. I make myself a little something after noon, just because I haven't eaten since 4:30 am. Then I eat dinner around 5:30 or six because the rest of the family is hungry..but I don't even eat much then. When I first started this WOL, I could eat a house..but now if it weren't for the fact that I have to make food for my family, I probably would have to force myself, or make myself remember to eat. I'm just not 'into' food anymore..and it used to be my best friend.

Pennie, thank you for the compliment I am glad you were able to kickstart your weight loss back in gear! I guess I was just wondering if you were having the same loss of appetite as me, or were watching yourself. When I was a kid, I used to play so much outside, that I forgot all about food. I was skinny as a rail too! I am just a little confused I guess. See, you would think that one should eat when one is hungry, but since Ketosis acts as a natural appetite suppresant..I am left wondering if my body needs food, and I am just not feeling the signals.

              Re: Penniedo

I am finally experiencing that not hungry feeling but honestly, it has taken me this long to get there. I was eating bacon and eggs every morning for breakfast and I than realized that there was sugar in my bacon!! So as soon as I took away the bacon I was no longer hungry all day. That was my first lesson in what everyone talks about "trigger foods".

I try to have a snack if I haven't eaten in a while only because than I won't be so hungry at dinner that I pig out. (one of my food issues). I also only put 1/2 the amount of food on my plate than I used too because now I feel full so quickly and if there is still food on my plate I have to eat it. (another of my food issues!)

You don't have to be hungry for the small snack if youare at the 6 waking hr mark. that was why Dr Atkins included it. we feed our hunger but if it has been 6 hrs since our last meal then we need that snack for blood sugar stability.

Pen Good for you finding your triggering foods. there is a big difference between realizing you are over eating your total foods and saying i will have X foods everyday cause that is my limit. Good for you realizing you were overeating and cutting back. that clean plate club stuff is very hard to break. The best thing I ever saw for it was better to waste it then waist it when dealing with food left on the plate.
