I've been on induction for the last week totally by the book. I am also in the process of training for a half marathon. So far, so good - about 10 pounds lost!! Yeah! But here is my problem, when I went out for my long run on Saturday, I hit a wall REALLY early and the rest of the day wasn't pretty. I couldn't even keep anything in my stomach until late afternoon. I'm being careful to make sure I do get my 20 carbs in, mainly from the salad veggies but also typically have a little brocolli, spinach or asparagus as well, usually about 1/2 a cup.
I typically don't eat before a long run because it makes me sick, but I got sick anyways. Since I haven't really changed anything with training, I was thinking perhaps it was my diet and I should alter something (like when I eat what) to help me get through my runs. I was going to do an extended induction, but don't want another day like Saturday.
Are there any other runners out there who went through induction while running over 20 miles per week. Maybe it's just me, but it's really been putting me through the ringer and challenging my running.
Thanks to anyone that can help!
