I started my lifestyle change a few weeks ago (March 4th) and had a setback in the form of a few mojitos and some candy on the 10th.
I restarted on the 14th and have been on clean induction ever since. I can't say it's been easy but I've almost reached the end of my planned induction stage (March 31st).
There were many days where I could have easily eaten a dozen doughnuts, a entire pizza, drank a few milkshakes, eaten an entire cake, but I was able to fend off the tempation dragon.
I read the book back in 2000 and did the process to lose the weight I gained after I broke my ankle while training for the Marine Corps Marathon but the weight came back mostly due to my lack of control. I could literally sit at the table and eat a full large pizza or an entire box of doughnuts or even an entire 24 ounce cake without thinking twice but when my wife compared my stomach to her pregnant tummy, I got the message.
I must say that reading your stories has helped me get through the last month like I never could have imagined. There were days when my wife and baby were alseep and I had the car keys in my hand to to to the local krispy kreme place and eat a dozen before bed. but I came to the site and read how others have been dealing with temptation and I stopped myself.
I'm a stay at home dad with a pregnant wife so I'm preparing food almost all day long. Fresh apples, banana, melon, oranges, crackers, pasta and yogurt for the baby and cinnamon rolls, ice cream sundaes, pizza, pastas and cappuccinos for the wife.
Thank you all for being so positive and I hope I can contribute and help others through this very challenging step in lifestyle change.
