Hi i am 265 pounds and i have lost 28 pounds since january on weight watchers.. I started the atkins diet and lost 4 pounds in a week and got frustrated and quit. Starting tomorrow i am going to stick with it and post everynight what i have eaten in the hopes if i am doing something wrong someone will correct me with it.. I really want to do this and i feel better on atkins than anything else... any advice would be helpful.

Truly, stick with it and this will change your life!
The first few weeks might be tough while your body adjusts and you learn to overcome head hunger, but trust me - it will pass!

Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.
Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

01/04/10 ~ 229.0
01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
(Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)

My advice right now would be to plan your meals for at least the weekend, and plan activities that arent' centered around food. And plan to spend some time on line reading success stories and stickies.
Post right after breakfast tomorrow with your menu for the day so you have time to adjust if nec.

hi and welcome.
Be sure to keep your copy of Dr. ATkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 edition nearby. I found it was really helpful to keep a copy of the Induction Acceptable Foods list and the Rules of Induction with me for a quick reference.
Be sure to eat your veggies daily. Too many people think Atkins is just eating meat, eggs and cheese and forego those wonderful veggies.

I did not have lunch. i just had the 2 beef jerkeys and cheese. for dinner this evening i had 2 hamburger patties and 2 ounces 2% motzerella cheese. i have drank 86 ounces of water so far i will try to get more in before bedtime.. i ate 2 cups of stewed tomatos. I am proud of you stormy587! Keep it up! Just a coupple of tips for you. Off the top of my head I think tomatos are high carb or at least higher than other vegies, I also notice when I am on induction I gravitate to diet soda just because it feels like some kind of reward or something that tastes good. Try cutting out the soda and stick just with water and I would think ketosis should kick in soon. Way to go!!

Hey Stormy! (I have a friend in Louisiana named Stormy also)
You sound like you may not be eating enough...
One thing that stalled me the first time I tried Atkins was eating foods low in carb, but not checking the ingredients. I didn't do very well. Then someone told me that if anything I eat contains any type of sugar (except sucralose/Splenda) that it will stall my weight loss and/or keep you craving. That is one tip I'd give to anyone new and/or having any types of stalls. Check your ingredients and make sure sugar (or any form) is not listed in it at all (or starches, flours, etc.) The reason I say this is because a lot of beef jerky has sugar in it (not all of them, but a lot). So, if you get a chance, check the ingredients and if it has sugar, that may be why you got so frustrated in the beginning.

Today i am going to have 2 fried eggs for breakfast and a piece of sausage. A hamburger patty for lunch with moterella and this evening have a steak with vegetables and motzerella. no diet pepsi today. how does that sound
