Re: Why am I still tired???

Its a fairly new ( I think) workout program by beach body. The same company that did power 90 and slim in 6. Its more dance oriented with modern music and supposedly lots of fun. I am dying to try it!!

Re: Why am I still tired???

I am wondering if you aren't eating enough. Are you feeding your hunger and/or not going over 6 hrs between meals? I think no one should go more than 4 hrs without some form of sustenance.

Re: Why am I still tired???

No I eat when I am hungry. Here lately I haven't really had any "big" meals because I am not as hungry anymore. I talk to a friend of mine that has done religiously for about 6 years now and she said if I wasn't getting all my veggies in that could be it. So I am going to make sure I pay extra attention to my veggies from now on. They usually come from salads but tonight I ate some squash. I am not a veggie person but I think that's because I never really ate them much. I just decided to try the squash and I LOVED IT!!!!

Re: Why am I still tired???

Kale is a green sorta like turnip greens, swiss chard, etc. Some folks add sugar to them when they're cooking them down to cut the bitterness. If you cook them that way, you can substitute with Splenda.

That is such a good idea to try all veggies on the list. Otherwise, how do you know if you like them or not. And, the funny thing is, after I hit my 20's I started liking more veggies. So, your taste does change over the years.

Yeah I am discovering that now!!! Perfect timing When I was younger the only veggies I liked was carrots and corn. I used to hate broccoli and now it's my favorite!!! It's crazy how it changes over the years. Well, I'll force myself to develop a taste for all kinds of veggies if it means I'll ose this weight and be healthier.

we should have a recipe for fried kale in the recipe section and Kale cooked with garlic and onion like collard greens is very good. some folk massage the kale to get it tender and eat it raw in salad too.

Re: Why am I still tired???

I've also noticed my tastes have changed over the years but there are still a few veggies that I just can't eat and I keep retrying them to no avail. They are mushrooms (I can't eat them raw or cooked), peas and brussel sprouts. I know it's weird but I just don't like them and my 5 year old is crazy for peas so I make sure that she gets them because if you find a kid who'll eat peas.....feed them peas

I also find that I don't like most of my veggies cooked and would rather eat them raw. For example I don't like green/red/yellow peppers cooked in something (like with eggs) but I will sit down and eat a whole one raw and love every minute of it. I think it's the texture/consistency that I have an aversion to because I don't really care for mashed potatoes or squash but give me bigger chunks of squash fried and I'm loving it.

I also think, for myself, that food is all about the crunch and the chew. I love foods that are crunchier and you have to really chew. Last night I had a salad made of green peppers, cucumbers and cubes of cheese with a little salad dressing on them and it was so filling. By the time I was done chewing it all, my jaw hurt and I felt quite satisfied and almost didn't need to eat the chicken tenderloins. My policy when I eat is to drink two glasses of water, then eat my veggies and then I eat whatever I made for meat.

I also have an almost 20 year old son who would never eat eggplant no matter how it was prepared and now he's hooked on eggplant parmesana and says it's his favorite dish!

You're never too old to change your taste buds - that's why I keep trying mushrooms, peas and brussel sprouts maybe I'll like them while I'm young enough to still have teeth to eat them with
