  • Day 14: Weigh in!

Okay so I didn't push as hard as I told myself I would in regard to exercise, and I probably should've hydrated a little more often as well. But stepping on the scale at the 2-week interval, I was rather pleased. Day 14 of Induction: -14.5 lbs! I honestly did not think I'd lose that much as I have fewer pounds to lose than many other people, but I was very glad to receive this surprise. I went down from 182.5 to 168 with my goal being 140. So I lost about 34% of my goal weight loss within my first two weeks. I really plan on jumping on the exercise and lifting a lot harder in order to maintain that weight loss and am confident if I stick with the strict induction diet, I can reach my goal of 140 by December 28th - if not a couple weeks sooner. Thanks for all the help so far in answering my questions.

I'm already seeing progress in the mirror and will be posting before and current pics come one month from start (November 9th), so you guys should be able toget a glimpse as well and hopefully I'll have dropped another 5 - 10 lbs by then.

congrats on the great results you acheived. Now that you have seen what you can do with a little efort just imagine what you can do when you apply more.

BTW if you haven't get your measurements cause when you hit the weights harder you may see some upward scale movemwnt as your muscles adjust to the increased load but the inches of fat will continue to be shed.

          Congrats.

I hope you reconsider the part about sticking to Induction until the very end. The remaining phases of the diet teach you how to keep that weight off once you reach goal. It would be a shame to rush to goal, get there and blow up like a balloon because you don't know how to maintain your weight or know how your body reacts to various foods.

                Excellent 14-day loss
I echo the suggestion that you now read up on the next phase of Atkins - Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) and start to add your 5 net carbs of induction veggies to learn how your body copes with the extra carbs and find your CCLL!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
