  • Day 11 and don't understand

    I weighed myself of course an hour and a half earlier than normal and I'm up 1.5 lbs. from last Wed. I haven't had much veggies at all. I've been focusing more on Protein. BUT I have been drinking at least 64 oz. of water a day plus some. Can someone help me here?? My menu is basically an omelet in the morn. w/bell peppers, onions and pepperoni. My lunch I've been skipping a lot this past week b/c I've been so busy at the time either gone from the house or like yesterday I just wouldn't stop to eat. For dinner I'll have some kind of meat w/salad that has tomatoes, onion and Bell peppers cut up but that hasn't been for a while that I've had that. And I will have cheese everyday (about 4 slices of hard cheese).

    Since the 1st 7 days, I did buy some heavy whipping cream to put in my 1 cup of coffee per day and I use 2 pkt. of Splenda. Also I had eaten at Chili's Friday evening and had the Steak and grilled shrimp and they seasoned it w/more than just salt and pepper I think. I had also drank down 2 glasses of diet coke that night. Last night I went to the store and brought back a 20 oz. Diet Dr. Pepper. That's probably messin' me up. Hopefully the next 3 days I'll see more of a dramatic weight loss.

      how is your exercise going you didn't mention that at all.

      did you knoe Atkins is more about the fat then the protein as excess protein is converted to sugar in the body? Atkins is a ketogenic diet with 65% of your induction cals coming from fats.

      Also skipping meals because you can is ill advised Dr Atkins has a 6 hr between meals maximun rule and eat whern we are hunger rule. did you know eating will stimulate your metabolism to work more?

      portions are important so did you eat only enough of your steak and shrimp to satisfy your hunger and stop or did you chow down on the whole pate? feed only your hunger and stop and you will be a loser.

        Well, I don't really eat a lot of fat I guess. I had been eating bacon BUT, I noticed that bacon had sugar in it so I quit eating it. I quit eating the breakfast sausage too b/c I didn't think that was a wise choice. Maybe instead of using Pam or Olive oil when making Omelets, I'll use butter. I don't know any other ways to use fats though. I'm so not use to eating fats that now I am confused and clueless.

          olive ole is a great fat. mayo based sugar fee salad dressings are great fats too.

          you can plug your food into a free online anylizer like www.fitday.com and see how much protein and fat you are eating. if you use fitday you have to tell it to track carbs too. we have a stickie in the FAQs about how to set your account up for this.

          protein should be no more then 30% of your total cals. I'm sure you remember reading in DANDR about not eating your Atkins too high in proteins.

            Thank you so much and I'll have to go back and read. I think I'm making it harder than needs to be. They say not to eat Bacon w/added sugar. I have yet to find a brand w/out sugar, is it okay to eat a couple of slices a day or less???
