    Hey everyone question? I know you shouldn't weigh yourself but I did the second day after I started and then everyday after. I lost really good the first weigh in and now I am just maintaining at the same weight! Why is this. I know I am in ketosis because I have the sticks showing so! My diet is under 20 carbs and consistently is 3 eggs with 3 grape tomatoes and water. Lunch is hamburger with 1oz of cheese and I snack on pork rinds and salami and usually an 1oz of cheese. For dinner I have usually chicken or a hamburger with spinach an a small salad with 2 tbsp of ranch! WHat is going on! I am getting frustrated!

    Back away from the scale!

    Seriously. None of us are guaranteed weight loss every single day. You lost some, and now your body is adjusting to it. You might go 3-4 weeks now without losing a single pound. My question to you is...are you in this to lose it for life? If so, then you have to work your plan and the weight will come off. Focus on eating healthy, eating on plan, drinking your water and exercising. The weight will come off in good time.

    Many people experience a big loss very quickly and then it stops, and adjusts, then you'll start losing again. Be patient....and stay away from the scale if its going to affect you this much.

      I have just registered here and read this question as I was about to post a very similar issue.

      I am 5 days into 2nd week of induction and equally strict and know that I am in ketosis.

      I lost 9 pounds last week in the 1st week.

      I wasn't due to weigh myself to Mon am when the 2nd week was finished, but through anticipatiion (as I felt like I was losing it fast still) I stepped on the scales this am.

      I am so deflated as I am the same as the end of the 1st week! Still only 9 pounds off.

      Now I feel so low. I know I may gave stalled, but it is hard.

      Anyway, just finished work early and off to do 1 hour in the cross trainer in the gym. That should burn 700 calories!

        Okay, both of you guys need to read these two threads that address your issue. Dr. Atkins defines a stall as 4 weeks with no loss on the scale OR in inches. You haven't even been on the plan for 4 weeks. So, lets put it into perspective. I am EXTREMELY happy losing 75 lbs in the past year. Had I lost 1 lb a day, I'd have lost over 350 lbs by now....REALITY CHECK HERE.

          Alright...so if you hadn't weighed yourself until the end of the second week and you saw you were 9lbs down, you'd be ecstatic, right?! I know it's exciting tosee those losses everyday, but it's just not going to happen. You lose, you might gain a little, then flat-line for a couple days. It's all part fo the weight loss progress. The great thing is...overall you're losing. don't sweat the little fluctuations. It's like worrying about the daily fluctuations of the stock market. All that matters is at the end of the day it's better than it was at the start!

              I drink atleast 320oz of water a day if not more and aerobics 3 times a week. Okay lincs we will stay away from the scale until the end of induction! Yes I am in this for the long haul because of health reasons! Liver fat and breast lumps that the doctor thinks are because of my huge weight gain over this past year (over 100 pounds). I have had no change in inches either, but I will try harder!

                  Hi!! Was that 32 or 320 oz. of water? If it was 32 oz., remeber that the MINIMUM amount of water is 64 oz. That will help you.
                  I did the calculation from your signature and you should be drinking about 88oz. per day.

                  64 oz minimum + 8 oz. for each 25 lbs. you need to lose = Approx. 88 oz.

                      Yes it was 320 ounces of water I drink at least 10 32 ounce cups of water a day if not more! Keeps me from wanting to eat things I shouldn't and have my coffee and Diet Dr. Pepper that I sooooo love!

                        Wow!!! How many gallons does that add up too? Great job! I can never go more than 3 32 oz. bottles!

                        Now I undersand your ticker!! LOL! - You drink like a fish. (in a GOOD way!!)

                          hi i just have a quick question, i would think 320oz of water is a little to much, maybe someone can answer this i drink a gallon usually a day oh my god if i was to drink 320oz i think i would float away lol. just checking it might be ok im just restarting myself so i really dont know thats why im asking!!!

                            lincs, I'm glad you got something out of those posts. I, too, had to have "reality checks" and I still do!! Had one a couple weeks ago. This is what ADBB is all about, supporting each other.

                            As for things to see in Florida....definitely go see some of the beaches on Florida's Gulf (west) coast. Anna Maria Island is my personal favorite. IMO we have some of the most beautiful beaches in the United States. Do a google on Anna Maria Island and there are lots of beach houses to stay.

                            The east coast beach that I like is Cocoa Beach, it's convenient to Orlando too. Probably about the same distance to either one from "The Mouse's House".

                              tfreel, you aren't doing ANYTHING wrong, so you don't have to "try harder". Just relax and focus on the things you can control. You can't control how fast or how much weight comes off. You can control what you eat, how satisfied you are about what you eat (in the form of yummy recipes), and how you move your body for exercise. If you focus on those things, this weight WILL come off.
