I am staring induction today!! (snaps to me!) What has me a bit concerned is that I am scheduled for Thyroid surgery on Jan. 30. I shouldn't have a problem except my diet will be soft foods for a few days. Does anyone have some induction sugestions besides poached eggs!

Soups made from cooked veggies and meat - just put them in the food processor and add cream or butter! Yummy!!

      Scrambled eggs?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

          Re: Thyroid

I was not told of any special diet.
I am going in to have the left lobe removed. I have had two needle biopsies andno sign of the "C" word so they are pretty confident that it will pretty simple. All of my numbers are right were they should be but the left side is enlarged and causeing difficulty in swallowing. So after 6 years of testing and trying to figure out what is causing this - OUT WITH IT!!!!
Even though all of the numbers are good - I can't help but think there is something more. All of my symptoms point to Hypo. So maybe this will help.

            Re: Thyroid

fantastic news! my DH had the big C in his thyroid and had a complete thyroidectomy last xmas. he was told to be on a low iodine diet afterwards in prep for the radioactive ablation treatment. but you don't have to go thru that - YAY!

i'm sure the endocrinologist will get you started on some synth thyroxine shortly after surgery and you'll be feeling better.
