Well, back to carrots froon sprouts (huh, nastyyyy things by the way! YUCK!) - I think I'll have some carrots sooner than allowed, as just every frozen vegetable mix seems to have them. And really, right now all not-frozen vegetables in the store look sear, so I mostly am eating frozen ones. But hey, how long can one live on green beans and cauliflower only?

Success is a science; if you have the conditions, you get the result.
A reality check here, friends, from some of the posts here it would seem to a new Atkineer that we are giving up carrots for ever!!
Starchy vegetables are reintroduced in the OWL phase of Atkins and so will be part of your normal way of eating once you reach that stage
So if you miss carrots and legumes concentrate on working your way through OWL till you reach the stage where you can 'legally' allow yourself to eat them and dont have to feel guilty about eating them!!

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies? Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Talk to OWLers and ask them if they've had any problems with "miniscule" amounts/carbs of a food and many of them will tell you "yes". We had a former administrator who would stop losing weight if she ate 5 net carbs of bread. I get horrible cravings if I eat a 1 inch cube of cantaloupe. Each of our bodies react differently to different foods. So it's not really truthful to say that it's okay to do whatever because I do it all the time and nothing happens to me.
Just remember, Dr. Atkins had over 30 years of experience with hundreds of his patients, so he knew what worked and didn't work. Sure a few slivers of carrot or a few kernels of corn might not have a gazillion carbs BUT if these small amounts were not problematic, don't you think Dr. Atkins would have allowed them in 'small amounts' during Induction???????????
I can get snooty and say this is the Induction Forum and we're totally by-the-book here. But honestly, I think our only job is to deliver accurate advise about this diet. If you choose to do your own thing during your Atkins---more power to you. BUT if your way doesn't work for you, don't start complaining how Atkins didn't work for you or how Atkins disappointed you, blah blah blah blah blah.
I confess! I like broccolli! and a LOT! weird huh? lol Most people say they don't. Strange things is that my little brothers love them too.... YOu think taste is genetic? Not many kids like Broccoli

I have had some of my mother-in-laws soup that did have small amounts of carrots. However I am just VERY LUCKY that it didn't cause any cravings, etc. I am not a big carrot person though.
